eDrawings Changelog

What's new in eDrawings 2010 SP04 10.4.0.126

Jul 5, 2010
  • New option in the Print dialog box:
  • You can set the Render Model Edges as Vectors option in the Print dialog box when you require presentation quality output, for example, for a PDF document that you expect users to zoom in and out. The option is equivalent to the Normal setting in eDrawings 2009 and earlier.
  • Render Model Edges as Vectors is not available for selection when you are printing drawings that contain only high-quality, non-shaded views since eDrawings applies this setting automatically. The option is also unavailable for parts and assembly documents that contain elements that cannot be rendered as vectors, OLE objects, for example.
  • Caution: Using Render Model Edges as Vectors for large assemblies or drawings that include complex draft quality views may result in long print times or print failures if your system resources are exceeded.
  • If you have problems implementing vector rendering:
  • For drawings, remove shaded views and set the Display Style for each view to High Quality (Drawing View PropertyManager) in SolidWorks before saving or publishing to eDrawings.
  • For parts and assemblies, remove or hide elements that need to be rasterized, such as OLE objects, images, or stamps.
  • Resolved issues:
  • A file-specific issue where some text was missing when a SolidWorks drawing was opened in eDrawings is resolved.
  • A system-specific crash when using the Measure tool on 32-bit Windows XP machines with certain versions of the Intel Express chip set graphics driver is resolved.
  • A file-specific display issue involving relative drawing views is resolved.
  • A crash on opening eDrawings executable assemblies containing BOMs is resolved.
  • An issue on eDrawings for Mac when opening SolidWorks drawings files containing BOMs is resolved.
  • The End User License Agreement in the German version of eDrawings for Mac is now displayed correctly.
  • A file-specific crash involving detached drawings and sketch pictures is resolved.
  • A crash on eDrawings for Mac when opening files over an intermittent network connection is resolved.
  • Files with diacritic characters in their file names can now be opened in eDrawings for Mac.
