Apr 10, 2017
  • Fixed Google Recaptcha and .htaccess issues

New in openElement 1.57 R7 (Apr 10, 2017)

  • Performance improvement - certain operations up to 3 times faster

New in openElement 1.57 R6 (Apr 4, 2017)

  • Improvements:
  • Google Fonts - add Google fonts by their embed code
  • Google Recaptcha - new element in the Elements pane ("Form" group)
  • Element Group of Elements - choice of a custom wrapping tag: "a" (link containing all inner elements - careful to not insert other links inside!), "form" (HTML form to handle yourself), SEO-friendly tags (section, article, header, footer, nav, aside, main)
  • CSS property "box-sizing: border-box" available in Styles-Customize - if checked, the tag size includes padding (internal margins) and borders; no more need to write it into Free Code or code blocks.
  • before and ::after - free CSS code for both pseudo-elements available in Styles->Customize (just under Free Code)
  • Site Explorer (on the left - pages and folder of the project): Filter (search) field to show only folders and pages containing a text in their names
  • Same search field for Link configuration form (choice of target page or anchor)
  • Insert non-breakable spaces ( ) using Shift+Space when editing text (Single/Multiline Text elements and others)
  • Fixes:
  • In case of loss of certain interface windows (like Site Explorer), auto-repair on opening the project (note - you can do it manually as before using the topmost menu with small icons -> Restore defautl layout)
  • Property "Value" of Multiline Input Field element - fixed editor behavior
  • Fixed blocking (read-only) properties when Custom Classes are defined for style zones
  • Font management - fixed errors adding new fonts; now it is possible to add several fonts of the same family (Bold, Italic etc.) in different files
  • Fixed a random crash on closing layers and pages
  • Fixed freezing on inserting certain CSS codes into Styles->Customize->Free Code
  • OEGuideline: reports on missing images coming from additional downloadable elements are now shown as warnings and not as errors, and do not affect the page score

New in openElement 1.57 R3 (Mar 6, 2017)

  • A number of improvements were made, as well as a number of fixes and memory optimisations:
  • The performance of certain operations is improved.
  • The problem with creating new projects using templates is fixed.
  • Interface is visually reworked and optimized.
  • Interface language problems are fixed.
  • Installer issues are fixed.

New in openElement 1.53 (Jan 29, 2016)

  • Briefly, there are new responsive features like media query handling (check the new option in Styles->Customize), page sections (header, footer, columns, central content) that may be configured as "absolute" or "relative" like Groups of Elements (which means that now, finally, the page itself can adapt to its content without writing extra code and Groups).

New in openElement 1.50 R1 (Aug 5, 2015)

  • bug fix and drag an drop relative object

New in openElement 1.49 R6 (Jun 5, 2015)

  • fixing several publishing issues (FTP connection, content uploaded in different publishing modes) and several other bugs.

New in openElement 1.49 R3 (Jun 5, 2015)

  • Fixes concern performance, memory management, publishing issues etc.
  • Improvements: there are many changes compared to 1.44. Just some of them:
  • Code editor largely improved (code insight, collapsing blocks, removed annoying warnings etc.)
  • CSS code blocks can be "activated" in the Editor mode, so that styles are immediately applied without the need to previsualize
  • Improved CSS unit handling and auto-conversion between units (px->%->em->rem->etc.), floating-point values allowed (except for "px")
  • OEGuideline module (access to detailed reports is paid, but the summary score is available without license) to help you optimize your site for better placement in search results and better user experience
  • Element Editor improvements (allows to create your own elements, or edit "dowlonadable" elements - see the 2 buttons on the top of the Elements tab)
  • Minor improvement but important for some: you can now use an email address provided by a visitor (the value of a text input field of your choice) in the Send Mail element

New in openElement 1.44 (Jan 30, 2014)

  • Fixes:
  • Several bugs corrected, including SMTP mail sending, Image Zoom, etc.
  • Fixed error with opening pages when a user’s name contains special characters
  • Improved performance: opening/refreshing pages, selecting/de-selecting elements, and moving elements now much faster.
  • Fixed Pop-Up Menu error, as well as errors in renaming pages created with Database Packs.
  • New Features:
  • Element Editor: Version 1.43 includes the beta version of openElement’s Element Editor, which will allow more advanced users to create and edit new elements. The documentation isn't quite ready yet, but we'll soon be adding examples in a new sub-forum.
  • Custom Classes: You asked, we listened. Now users can enter one or more classes for an element under Properties and in Styles/Customize for a Style Zone - useful for CSS and JS scripts
  • Responsive Design Tools: Possibly our most requested feature, and here it is… A set of tools to build responsive pages using relative content
  • Containers (Group of Elements) with Relative Positioning: Position and align elements relative to one another by using new buttons on the element/containers or the Element Explorer.
  • Overflow/Scrolling Properties for Containers: Useful for removing undesired scrollbars in containers.
  • Bottom Bar: Change size in pixels or % without losing the "physical" size (automatically recalculates between units).
  • Using the mouse to move or resize an element/container does not lose "%" value (automatic recalculation), and preserves CSS values for Right and Bottom Distance if Left and Top are deleted.
  • Ribbon Menu (Top of Editing Pane) -
  • New button in Page Tab toggles between Default Size and Full Screen (100% page width).
  • New option in Page Tab -> Styles Button called "Size in Browser.” Select how the page body should display in a browser (as opposed to the editing pane) -
  • 100% width in browser (choose if it’s easier to edit the page without passing to 100% in the editor)
  • Height Adapts to Content: When using elements with automatic height (multi-line text, database-linked dynamic elements, or any element that could change size in the browser), the page’s height will adapt automatically to changes in content.
  • Automatic Height: Choose when using "relative" positioned content in the page body. Responsive templates will use this option.
  • In Selection Tab, new options to change size (width/height) in pixels, percentage, or automatically.
  • Copy-Paste in Specific Spot: Just right click on an unoccupied part of the page and select Paste to Paste the element in that particular spot (does not work in containers)
  • New Buttons in Top Menu: "Other" button in Project menu, which allows users to 1) open the current project folder, 2) Make a backup of the project (in a ZIP file), or 3) Open a "Notes" text file.
  • Switch Any Page with Home Page: in the Site Explorer (left), right-click on a page to turn any page into the Home Page (the old Home Page will replace the page taking its place).
  • Float Images in Text Elements: Users can now specify Float properties and other CSS (margins, etc.) for images within text elements (Single-Line/Multi-Line Text). This is useful for wrapping text around an image and generally customizing the layout (not to mention the responsive implications).
  • Improvements:
  • Database
  • Automatic Installation of Packs. It is now easier than ever to install the User Space and/or the back-office system + dynamic elements. Just double-click on simplified automatic installation, fill out a few important settings. Then, openElement will create the administration pages and place the corresponding packs automatically. Previewing (F12) the first of these new pages once will be enough to initialize the system of Packs you've just installed.
  • Multiple corrections within Packs
  • Dynamic Elements: Pack #80 (Dynamic Item List) now supports pagination, and a new pack – Pack #81 – contains the list of page numbers to display all articles, one page at a time.
  • Several new Packs have been added in category UserSpace01: "21" - a mini-login form (updated) to place on any page of the website (even the home page); "80" - a container that only displays elements if the user is logged in.
  • Basic/Detailed Pack Configuration: When a Pack is unpacking, only the most important settings will appear in the configuration wizard (the "Detailed Mode" checkbox is unchecked). Reconfiguring the Pack displays all possible settings, unless you uncheck "Detailed Mode."
