GPU-Z Review by
4.5/5

If you are familiar with the concept of CPU-Z or any other similar hardware-related program, you'll understand what GPU-Z is for. Yes, the program can easily be used to understand more about your graphics card, meaning information that deals with VRAM, clocks, frequencies, and many others.

I find it useful in moments when I must check that the games I want to run are compatible with my setup. The result is I avoid a major crisis and am always prepared with updates and upgrades in time.

The program checks the system and directly connects to your graphics card and its attached sensors to provide values in real-time such as temperature, current clock speeds, fan speed, load percentage, power consumption, and so on.

This is valuable information that can further allow you to better overclock or underclock your machine, undervolt your setup for more efficiency in terms of power consumption, and so on. I would think of it as any mechanic's tool, only this time we're talking about a PC gamer mechanic.

The user can slightly tweak app behavior, including actions like keeping the window always on top, minimizing to systray in certain conditions, enabling tips, and checking for updates.

Sensors can also be checked in terms of their value and accuracy, activated or deactivated, depending on your particular need for information. The program is indeed pretty adjustable and that is to offer its users the best possible experience.

There's no doubt in my mind that GPU-Z is the go-to tool for your GPU or graphics card information needs, no matter what your final goal is. You can keep an eye on this particular component without having to waste any time at all with more complex software solutions that promise a lot but deliver little.
