Create new HTML pages from scratch through a wizard-driven process in the form of a command line interface which minimizes code writing. #Create web pages #Design web pages #HTML editor #Edit #Create #Editor
Most web pages rely on the HTML programming language. Code can be written even in plain text editors, but there are also specialized third-party tools you can use. One suitable example is QHTML, which allows you to create HTML pages writing very little line of code because of its particular method of approach.
Note that the application might require elevated privileges in order to be able to create HTML files in the source directory. The whole process might leave you scratching your head for a while. The visual design is similar to a command line interface, with questions gradually asking for input and project characteristics.
You need to go at least once through the whole process to know how the pages end up, even though every step of the way if accompanied by detailed descriptions. You start off with the basics, such as background and text colors which can either be text labels, or HTML color codes. Sadly, there’s no documentation to help you out.
Three sample files are created, and you can even assign links to them by default to save some effort. Content is split into six paragraphs by default, but not all of them are mandatory. While filling in paragraphs there’s the possibility to write custom text for specific triggers, or plain text, depending on the expected result.
Unfortunately, there’s no preview option so you need to go through all steps and pay attention to minimize the chances of errors. What’s more, all projects start from scratch, because there’s no built-in method to edit existing documents, so everything needs to be carefully planned from the start.
All things considered, we can state that QHTML comes with good intentions, but its method of approach is pretty tough, considering every bit of info needs to be flawless from start to end. What’s more, editing is not possible, and there’s no preview either to view progress with each step.
