Just to prevent things from getting out of hand, Windows brings up security prompts whenever you try to run executables. Needless to say that this can easily get frustrating, especially for trusted files. However, you can rely on specialized applications like RunSU to get the job done, and remove prompts for custom programs.

Before the application can function, you might want to check whether or not your computer is fitted with .NET Framework, even though it comes as a default feature in modern Windows iterations. Accommodation doesn’t require a lot of effort, with sets of intuitive requirement fields for source and destination.

What the application wants to do is create shortcuts for your programs so that you can run them without the disturbing UAC prompt. Note, however, that this needs to be manually performed for each shortcut, because there’s no possibility to have it monitor your computer and automatically create elevated shortcuts for newly-installed programs.

Needless to say that you need to load the EXE file of choice, and this needs to be done through the browse dialog, because dropping it over the main window has no effect, and the application doesn’t integrate in the context menu for faster approach. Working directory is automatically filled in, and you can add extra arguments.

Shortcut details are automatically created, such as name, icon file, and target location. You’re free to change all of them, and even to add a description which shows up in a tooltip on mouseover. Sadly, the hotkey field is not put at your disposal.

Bottom line is that RunSU helps you get rid of the annoying UAC prompt whenever you try to launch specific programs. However, this needs to be performed for every program of interest, which can take a bit of time without a context menu integration.
