The first window opens. Can select language and later if to use graphical interface. After this selection system shows ata2:SRST failed (errno 16) and later a long list finally telling that no bootable thing was found.

I downloaded Kaspersky bootable Rescue Disk 10 to remove OpenCloud Security that has hijacked my Windows 7. I followed all the instructions but it did not work. The button to update the database was not displayed. I created two more disks just incase the first one did not burn properly. Neither of them displayed the options to update the database or to scan for the virus on my computer. I am just praying that no further damage was done on my computer. Kaspersky bootable Rescue Disk 10 has occupied the D:\ for the CD\DVD drive. I attempted to remove the Kaspersky bootable Rescue Disk 10. I get “Access denied”.

This is an awesome rescue CD to have in your arsenal, and it's best to burn it to a CD or DVD before you'll ever need it! It can use your broadband connection (required) to download updates and signature files, but please don't bother with it if you're on dial-up.

It does however need a better mouse driver since the cursor moves are too fast.

I also wish Kaspersky wouldn't put so much of the files required to run it in the user profile appdata folder, I would much more appreciate it being in its own folder in the root directory like "C:\KAVRescueDisk" or something, but that's a small complaint because if you have to use it you're more than likely just trying to get your system bootable to copy important files off it before a format+reinstall of Windows.

Had some issues with Pointing device on notebooks (I did not test it with PS/2 attached mice), USB mice seem not to be supported. Work around is starting it in the text modus.

Cleaned all viruses, pleased with the results.

I had a rouge security virus that knocked out MS Security Essentials and held the computer hostage trying to force me to buy some virus scan softwware that was being presented as the only solution. Kaspersky allowed me to boot from the CD, scan the system, and delete the virus files. I was very pleased.

boot to a nice gui, great job of detecting onboard nics, updates easily so it uses an fresh database. Scan is slow but thorough. Picked up malware that escaped MS Malicious software removal tool and MS security essentials.

Does what it\'s supposed to do without all the fluff.

Loaded the image on CD. Unable to boot same. Have other disks, but they have lots of more information on them.
Somewhat, this Kaspersky Rescue Disk has only the .ISO file. Will this work that way?

In other cases, I have downloaded an executable. Once you double click on them, they will create the rescue disk, with many files.

The scan goes into an endless loop at 8% completion. This occurs with the October 28 version (kav_rescue_2008.iso) on my Dell Inspiron 5100 with 512 meg of ram.
