Can Not run on win98se, it freeze in the first step for more than 12hrs and more.....

Why does it remove the legitimate AVG Antivirus Free 2011? AND not completely at that. Just enough so that on log-on, when avg is supposed to be loading, it cant, but so freezes the computer there in its tracks.

Ran on a PC that wasn't infected to see how the program worked and if the reviews about losing your Network card was true. Well - those reviews are Very true. I too , lost my network drivers. Went into Safe Mode and did a System Restore. Everything was back to normal after the restore.

If you want a program that Really works give MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware a try.
You won't be disapointed and you Won't lose any of your drivers or services other than the infected ones.

THis is free but it did nothing to remove anti virus 2010. In fact I have found no program that works other than a manual uninstall which is extremely time consuming.

I tried this on my laptop as well and it seemed to have removed the antivirus virus, but totally disabled my wireless network card. Now I'm not sure how to get my network card back, and I'm no techie. Not a good piece of software for a run-of-the-mill person who is slightly tech savvy.

Only works if you boot up into safe mode and then run it - worked for me.

I dont know what it's job, but after running it, my IP address changed to DHCP after reboot, and it continues every time.

I didn't read the reviews first. I ran the program on the infected computer and read the reviews on my non-infected computer as the program ran. I had an "Oh No! moment" and expected the worst. Well - it didn't remove the Antivirus System Pro program. The creators of both program should consider what they are doing.

What GUI? It ran in a dos window after opening the file that just showed removing "*" fake programs then said finished and I needed to restart after restart all browsers were turn to off line, so was thunderbird, then I also found all the drivers for sound, video, ether net, 1394 connection. I was lucky because of full back up nightly.

I have tried this one 2 PC's. One having Personal Antivirus "installed", but it was still there after running??? But on both PC's I loose my wireless netwok-card, first time it just disapeared. Then I re-installed them and they worked allright, but after restart they didn't work at all. After a "delete" of the wireles network cards in Control Panel and a restart, both PC had the wireless working normally again. So I'm not very impressed. And still have Personal Antivirus installed....!!
