The Internet is big, that's for sure. And it shelters all sorts of things. It is no longer the Garden of Eden it used to be. With more and more people getting access to it, the software and information found here is indeed overwhelming.

Surfing around, I found an application that bragged about changing the faces of still pictures. It sounded good at the time and it still does. At the beginning, I thought it was a professional software designed to create perfect fitting faces, from all points of view: contrast, brightness, luminosity, etc. Well, I was wrong about that, but I found instead a very good software to play pranks on my friends and attach their faces to different people or even animals.

What I liked about this software is that it does not try to deceive the customers into believing that it is a super professional application that creates perfect fits in no time. Like any other image editing software, the user has to be a bit keen on such things for something nice and funny to come out.

The wizard like interface makes it extremely easy to manipulate the software and it will even give you some options to "polish" the result a little. There are six steps you have to take in order to reach the final result.

The first step is choosing the scene, meaning the picture you want to apply the face on. The software provides some categories for you to choose from, which contain pretty wild images. To give you some examples, the user can select pictures with celebrities (Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Michael Jackson, etc.), TV shows (Seinfeld, Friends, The Brady Bunch etc.), movies or funny people. There are also some other categories that include funny animals, sexy dudes and "dudettes" etc.

Some really funny effects can be obtained if you apply the faces of your friends to the weight challenged women out there. The thing is that the pictures do not come with the software and they are instantly downloaded from the Internet. That would not be a big problem if all the download links worked.

The scene is not restricted to those provided by the software via download and the user can also choose a file stored on the hard disk. This way, if some picture refuses the download, you have the option of choosing a different scene.

The next step is choosing the face of your friend. Just choose a file on your computer and worry about the selection at the next stage of playing the prank. Selecting the face is done by centering the circle selection on the area you want to "paste" into the scene. The accuracy of the selection is dealt with in stage four, when you get to apply a mask on the parts of the circle selection you do not need. I must tell you that this was one of the most difficult tasks for me when working with the application. And if you want to make the outline as accurate as possible then a good mouse is necessary.

Placing the face is one of the last steps you are going to take. The final touches can be done now and adjusting the RGB, contrast and brightness is done in here. Resizing your selection is also available; so, if you have made it a bit too large, you can shrink it with no problems.

The user has the chance to polish the image and paint from the background, from scene or from your selected face. Rotating left or right is also available as well as undo option which allows you to go back to the beginning of the step.

Step number six is for saving the picture on your computer, sending it via email or starting a new project. But some of these options will not work, due to the limitations of the trial version. To tell you the truth, I haven't had the chance to tell you more about the available categories for choosing the scene because at the second use of the software the trial version expired.

The Good

If you choose the right pictures, a real prank can be played on your friends. The only condition is to select pictures that are similar in what concerns the histogram.

The Bad

The trial version really sucks. When you are having the loudest laugh it takes all the fun away from you. The pictures available for download are pretty old and the quality is crappy.

Also, the price for having all this fun is expensive enough for me not to buy it. I'll wait till winter sales are coming to get a copy.

The Truth

I had a great laugh at the beginning, because soon enough the trial version expired and I had to start writing the review.

Here are some snapshots of the application in action:
