TSR Watermark Image Software Review

Whether or not you are a professional photographer there might come a time when you might need to personalize your photos. Adding a watermark is the easiest way to do that. TSR Watermark Image Software is a tool that promises to help you add watermarks to your images as easy as 1,2,3.

The app is free to use for personal use and the developer offers a commercial version as well.

Don’t expect a fancy piece of software, because you’ll be disappointed. Functionality has won the battle with design. For beginners, it is good to know that all of TSR Watermark Image Software's options are located in the main window, thus making this tool very easy to use.

In order to explore the software’s features, you will first need to choose the files to use. You can add a file at a time or a whole directory. When adding a folder you can select for the app to include the sub-folders and maintain the directory structure. In case you made a bad choice you can remove a file with the designated button.

The lack of a Remove All button might prove to be irritating especially if you have multiple file to erase from the list.

You will certainly add a folder to use for the newly created images. Because some name similarities might occur with filenames in the directory you choose and the new picture, you can select to overwrite the images or skip them. An automated rename tool would have been useful in this section; at the very least the option of adding a number to the original filename.

This tool offers two types of watermarking: you can use image or text. When using an image you will of course select the file to use, and you’re good to go. No other options, like setting transparency or adjusting the size are offered; a downside in my opinion.

The text type can be customized. You can select to add the text to the EXIF copyright information, or to use emboss or chisel text. Further customization can be made by adding a border to your text, for which you can customize the color.

All that is left for you to do is to select the font color and you’re good to go. All sorts of combinations can be made. Last but not least, options for configuring the size and the text angle are also available.

Also worth mentioning is the Use as a 3D depth map feature, if you wnat a special watermark. This type can be adjusted in what concerns the 3D offset. This option is available for image watermarks only.

Regardless of the type of watermark you prefer, text or image, you can adjust its position. You can choose from the default locations and move it around a little through the Relative offset option if you are not satisfied.

One other thing that you can customize is the watermark’s transparency, in percents. This feature might prove to be very useful if you want to make sure that the watermark does not screen your whole image.

TSR Watermark Image Software doesn’t offer just an ordinary watermarking tool but also it will offer you some resize and conversion features. The Output Format section will allow you to choose the image format to be used for your new image. You can select from: JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP or GIF, some of the most popular image formats out there.

If you are interested in the EXIF info you can choose to preserve it on the new image, and to rotate the image accordingly. The JPEG option  enables you to adjust the quality in percents.

EXIF, short for Exchangeable Image file format is an acronym bestowed to express a specification of the image file format which keeps interchange information for digital images.

The Resize feature is simple, not so fancy, as it is the whole app, allowing you to manually adjust the height and weight to be used. If you want to make sure that your pictures won’t be deformed you can use the Maintain aspect ratio feature, which will guarantee that you’ll get nice looking images.

The result of your watermarking can be checked at all-time in the Preview section of this tool. All the actions you have performed can be seen in the Log tab. You can monitor the items that have been watermarked, as well as the errors.

You can’t however use just the resize function, without the watermarking one. This is nonetheless an image personalizing tool through watermarks. It’s great though, that this primary function is completed by some other image adjusting ones.
