Hexagon

Hexagon is a professional software application that allows users to design and manipulate complex and detailed models in a 3D working environment.

The GUI may seem a bit overwhelming at a first glance, but this is only because the program comes packed with a multitude of dedicated parameters.

Hexagon gives users the possibility to create 3D models from scratch or import data from A3D, OBJ, TGA, 3DS, DWG, DXF, or other file formats.

The 3D workspace is divided into several panes built specifically for helping you build and visualize 3D models, and position your objects by rotating them to different angles, moving them to any area of the environment, and adjusting their size.

What’s more, you can perform basic editing operations (cut, copy, paste, delete), duplicate the selected components, select all or parts of your 3D scene and models, view information about the current scene, as well as texture your model by applying different materials.

Hexagon comes packed with several preset objects (e.g. cube, sphere, cylinder, cone, tetrahedron) which can be dragged and dropped directly into the primary panel.

Other notable characteristics worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to embed 3D text messages, perform dynamic geometry operations for memorizing all the construction steps of an object and automatically updating any changes made to previous steps, as well as model objects in a symmetrical way.

The Hexagon bundles several tools for creating and editing polyhedric shapes, several types of line and curve tools (e.g. rectangles, squares, circles, arcs, Bézier lines, curves, 2D text), as well as a set of utilities for sculpting and painting the objects.

Last but not least, the generated project can be exported to CAR, OBJ, 3DS, DXF, DWG, STL, A3D, or AI file format.
