Disk Unlocker

Disk Unlocker is a tool designed by ASUS to overcome some common issues users encounter with the same brand hard disks. To put it simply, the tool has the role of surpassing system limitations specific to Windows XP, Vista and 7 regarding the maximum potential of the storage space and hence, allows users to access more than more than 2048GB or 2.2TB with just a few clicks.

Once the utility is launched, users should be able to view the hard drives that are larger than 2048GB, as the ones smaller than this are not going to be displayed. The next step entails creating a new virtual drive by accessing the command with the same name.

According to the developer, the newly created unallocated space is shown in the Virtual Drive section and users need to partition it before usage. Partitioning the new disk entails access to the Partition command which in turn launches the Windows Disk Management. It is important to note that the virtual drive disappears when the utility is uninstalled.

As far as compatibility goes, the developer claims the tool works with all motherboards supported by the aforementioned operating systems. It is important to note that the tool does not work with Windows 8, 8.1 or 10, where these limitations no longer exist.
