Is this a subscription or a one-time fee?
This is a single-time purchase, not a subscription.
I'm trying to activate the app with the license that I purchased, but it says "License not found"
This sometimes happens if extra characters got copied accidentally, or if the license number got pasted in the field twice. Try removing the license number from the app completely, then copy it from the email again and paste it into the app.
The form above doesn't accept my Credit Card
Payments are being managed by FastSpring, it sometimes rejects certain transactions without much explanation. I'm afraid it is out of my hands. There are a few things that you may try though:
- When making the purchase, make sure that the country selector in the upper right corner of the window is set to the country of your payment account (credit card, PayPal, Alipay, etc.)
- If you're using a VPN, try turning it off before making the purchase
- Try opening the purchase page in the incognito mode of your browser
- Try making a purchase on this page from a mobile device
- If you can, try making a purchase with a different credit card.
Can I use my upload token as a license number?
No, an upload token won't work as a license number, and a license number won't work as an upload token.
How many macs are included in the license?
One license covers one user and up to five computers.
Can I purchase multiple licenses?
Yes. Pick a tier, and once the payments pop-up shows up, click on the cart icon in the upper-left corner. You’ll be able to enter the number of licenses before proceeding with the purchase.
What if I paid but didn't receive the license code immediately?
Occasionally the payment processing company (FastSpring) takes extra time to clear the transaction. This usually happens with the Alipay purchases, and in that case the license code arrives an hour or two after the purchase. This could also happen with the other payment methods. If you didn't receive your license, and you worry about your transaction status, reach out at
[email protected], and I'll check the transaction manually.
What if I ever lose my license number?
Visit
this page and enter the email you used for the purchase to retrieve your license number.
I tried the license retrieval link above, but it didn't work
Check your spam folder; try to think if you may have used a different email for the purchase. Sometimes people make typos in their email addresses, and don't get the receipt. If that's your case, send me the following:
- The exact name that you used for the transaction
- An approximate purchase date. The precise date is the best, but a rough guess would also help. The easiest way to find the date is to check your credit card statement for a record "FS* shottr" or similar.
- Payment method type that you used to purchase the license (Credit Card, PayPal, AliPay, etc)
Can I pay you directly?
Unfortunately, no. First of all, license generation is wired through FastSpring, and there's no easy way to generate a license code outside a FastSpring transaction. The second problem is that I use FastSpring as a merchant of record. If I were to process payments from the private parties directly, there would be a ton of regulations to comply with, and I understand it would complicate my taxation as well.
Do you accept Bitcoin?
I don't. The reasons are same as above: FastSpring doesn't support it, and I personally am not equipped to process the taxes.

Where can I get a W9 form?
To get a W9 form for your purchase, go to the email receipt, and click on the "View Invoice" link at the very bottom. An invoice page will open. Now, click on the "W-9 Form" link to open your W-9 form.
