creating Open Source RGB Software

I am developing an open source RGB lighting control application called OpenRGB.  The goal of OpenRGB is to control RGB lighting on PC components (such as motherboards, graphics cards, and RAM modules) as well as peripherals (such as keyboards, mice, and light strips).

RGB lighting became popular in the enthusiast/gaming PC world several years ago but has been plagued with bloated, insecure, and sometimes broken software.  If you have devices from different manufacturers, you will need multiple such apps installed and likely will not be able to easily synchronize all your devices.  On top of this, the apps are all Windows-only, leaving Linux (and MacOS) users unable to control their devices' lighting.

By bypassing the manufacturer software and talking directly to the device hardware, OpenRGB is able to control devices from many brands and synchronize them all.  OpenRGB provides a network-based interface (SDK) for other software to control lighting. OpenRGB supports both Windows and Linux, with experimental support for certain devices on MacOS as well.

By becoming a patron of OpenRGB you'll allow me to buy more RGB hardware to reverse engineer and develop drivers for.  The goal is to support as many as possible!

This Patreon is treated as a donation to the project.  I will not be providing any Patreon-exclusive content or early releases.  OpenRGB is open source and I intend to keep development in the open.
