What's new in Acon Digital DeVerberate 3.0.3

Sep 29, 2021
  • The new version includes an entirely new algorithm based on deep learning for fully automatic reverb reduction of recorded dialogue. By training a neural network on thousands of high-quality voice recordings and a wide variety of acoustical surroundings, the artificial intelligence can automatically distinguish dialogue from reverb. The separation works without user interaction and automatically adapts to changes in the reverb characteristics, thus making DeVerberate 3 extremely easy to use.

New in Acon Digital DeVerberate 2.0.0 (May 15, 2018)

  • While earlier versions of DeVerberate successfully focused on the suppression of late reverberation, typically the diffuse reverb tail arriving 20 to 30 milliseconds after the direct sound, the first reflections to arrive after the direct sound were left untouched. These early reflections change the tonal character of the recording and can cause the hollow and disturbing sound frequently experienced when recording in small reverberant rooms.
  • DeVerberate 2 introduces a new and unique Early Reflections Filter that works in conjunction with the late reverb suppression found in version 1. The Early Reflections Filter uses sophisticated statistical methods to estimate the so called impulse response of the early reflections. The impulse response is then utilized to calculate an inverse filter that cancels out the effect of the early reflections.
