  • During the recovery of files, the Speed field in the recovery task details shows 0 bytes/s.
  • During a virtual machine backup to a locally attached storage of the virtual appliance, a backup task hangs at 100 percent.
  • When a virtual machine backup includes conversion to another virtual machine, a separate conversion task is not created in the backup plan's tasks.
  • An error occurs while parsing the registry keys during the Universal Restore operation.
  • Disks that are parts of a Fake RAID are incorrectly marked as read-only.
  • After activating Acronis Startup Recovery Manager on a 64-bit Windows machine booted into a Linux-based bootable media that is in the Windows-style volume representation mode and that contains 32-bit components, the machine reboot crashes the operating system.
  • The second run of a backup plan to an RDX drive or USB flash drive (Fixed drive usage mode, Custom backup scheme with a scheduled creation of full backups, with the When there is insufficient space while backing up retention rule enabled) fails if the space on the drive is sufficient for one backup but is not enough for the two backups.
  • After creating a full and several incremental backups to a local folder, and enabling replication to an RDX drive in the backup task settings, an Activities Need Interaction dialog appears during the first replication.
  • Replication of some backups fails.
  • The management console crashes after creating a backup plan of some files from a network share, closing the console, opening it again, and clicking Items to back up.
  • When mounting several volumes by using Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool without the --letter parameter, all of the volumes are mounted with the same drive letter.
  • The data catalog is loading endlessly.
  • Impossible to recover data from a backup created in CentOS Linux and stored on a DVD; no backup is seen in the Archive view.
  • On Windows XP, a disk-level backup (Use Volume Shadow Copy Service option set to Software - System provider or Software - Select automatically; other options set to the default values) fails and displays the error message "Failed to create volume snapshot" if Microsoft SQL Server is installed.
  • Backup fails after a virtual disk is manually removed from a virtual appliance via vSphere Client, and the information about disks is not updated in the operating system.

  • Browsing a backup located on a USB flash drive via Windows Explorer hangs.
  • Cannot view the contents of and recover data from a file-level backup created by Acronis True Image Echo.
  • Volume letters of UEFI-based virtual machines are shown incorrectly in the Data to Back Up window.
  • A non-default value of the Replication/cleanup inactivity time backup option is not displayed when editing a backup plan and in the backup plan details.
  • The Apply RAID/LVM option performance needs improvement if an archive is located in a centralized managed vault.
  • The log contains warnings "Failed to find a virtual disk that matches system device..." after a backup of a virtual machine by Agent for ESX(i) (Virtual Appliance).
  • The agent crashes after the user clicks Disk management.
  • "The specified e-mail or password is incorrect" error occurs when the user tries to log in to the online storage by using the credentials of an account with no subscription.
  • Incorrect values of the Time remaining field appear during recovery.
  • An error occurs while exporting a backup plan with one of the Always use a free tape options set in the backup options.
  • Editing a task of recovering to a new virtual machine must be disabled.
  • A time interval over midnight in the custom scheme schedule conditions is reset when the user edits it.

  • The Overwrite a tape in the drive when creating a full backup option does not work when the tape drive is attached to a storage node.
  • Fixed Issues - Centralized management:
  • After some time, the information about a managed entity (LastStartTime, LastFinishTime, BackupStatus, LastError, Progress, and other data) is not updated on the management server.
  • Sometimes, a backup created by Agent for ESX(i) (Virtual Appliance) fails to replicate from a deduplicating managed vault to a network share. The error is "Failed to create data file..."
  • During the parallel backup (created by Agent for ESX(i) (Virtual Appliance)) of two or more ESX 4.0 virtual machines that are linked clones of the same parent machine, vSphere Client shows a warning about virtual disks with the same UUID.
  • It is impossible to specify a domain administrator as a managed vault administrator because the domain structure is recognized incorrectly.
  • Selecting a volume letter in policy rules when backing up virtual machines does not result in backing up this volume.
  • The catalog is empty after a disk-level backup with fast cataloging to a centralized managed vault.
  • The log of Agent for ESX(i) (Virtual Appliance) contains warnings "VMware_VDDK: SSLVerifyIsEnabled: failed to open the product registry key. Falling back to default behavior: verification off." when the user backs up a virtual machine or browses its disks.
  • Each Kernel-based Virtual Machine takes a separate license from the license server.
  • Sometimes, removing one or several virtual appliances from a host fails. The error is "The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_Instance_Machine"."
  • If the name of an archive created by Agent for ESX(i) (Virtual Appliance) contains spaces, the archive replication to the online storage fails.
  • When editing a centralized backup plan with the GFS scheme and the destination of a centralized tape-based vault, the backup type is always shown as Always full.
  • If several Agents for ESX(i) (Virtual Appliances) are registered on the management server and back up many virtual machines, sometimes the backup plan on one of the virtual appliances freezes or fails.
  • An error occurs while backups created by several agents are replicated from a centralized managed vault to a tape-based vault managed by the same storage node.
  • A centralized backup of Microsoft Exchange Server data fails if All Microsoft Exchange servers is selected in Data to Back Up. The error is "Internal error: An expression test has failed."
  • When a folder with more than 1000 subfolders is browsed in Data to Back Up on the management server, only about 100 of the subfolders are shown.
  • After the log cleanup, the Last finish time field in the backup plan information shows Never instead of the actual value.
  • Acronis Storage Node Service crashes while the user tries to browse an archive located in a deduplicating vault.
  • In the Tasks reports, the Next start time value is shown in seconds since 1970.

  • In the recovered calendar item, the location name contains only the first letter of the original value (for example, 'A' instead of 'ABC').
  • Fixed Issues - Tapes:
  • Tapes are not ejected after a backup is replicated from a managed vault to a managed tape-based vault (the Eject tapes after successful backups option is enabled).
  • An error occurs while creating a task for recovery from a managed tape-based vault under WinPE-based bootable media. The error is "An error has occurred while obtaining the list of the tapes required for recovery."
  • The Apply RAID/LVM button is missing if the user creates a task for recovery from tapes.
  • If the Eject tapes after successful backups option is enabled, tapes are ejected before all backup and validation tasks are finished, so the validation fails.

  • Installation:
  • When changing licenses for the installed Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 components (Help > Change license), an SBS license is not displayed in the License for backup of Microsoft Exchange data field. The "No license specified" message is displayed instead.
  • There is no clear message stating that a trial VE license has expired in the log.
  • License keys are required during remote update of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 components if Specify license keys manually is selected in Remote Installation Wizard.
  • Cannot remotely install Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 components on a Windows machine that has SSH enabled on port 22.
  • If a remote machine has a local user with the same name as the domain Administrator user, remote installation fails because of logon failure.
  • Remote installation on a Linux machine does not work if the /tmp directory is mounted with the noexec attribute.
  • Installation is not interrupted if Windows PowerShell is corrupted.
  • Installation of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 fails on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9. dkms displays the "syntax error near `=~'..." error.
  • Local management:
  • The Data view tab displays only 5000 items. If a backup contains more than 5000 items, it is impossible to recover the items which are not displayed in the Data view tab.
  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool cannot recover a volume from a disk backup to unallocated space without resizing the volume so that it occupies all the space.
  • File-level recovery to the original location on a network share fails.
  • If the When there is insufficient space while backing up setting for the Clean up archive parameter within the Custom backup scheme is selected in the backup plan and the disk is full during backup, a warning about lack of space appears in the log.
  • The When there is insufficient space while backing up setting for the Clean up archive parameter within the Custom backup scheme does not work if backup is performed to Acronis Secure Zone.
  • Event time recorded in e-mail notifications about alerts is within the GMT time zone, not within the local time zone.
  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool does not correctly handle volume numbers in commands with the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 command-line syntax.
  • Agent errors added to the Windows application event log are unreadable.
  • Command-line input (a command and its parameters) entered by the user in the command-line interface is not added to the log generated by Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool. All passwords that the input contains should be removed from the log.
  • Cannot change the network and CPU load during backup and recovery using Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool.
  • Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 command-line parameter --vm_type:microsoft is not supported.
  • Environment variables specified in the input file that is called via parameters --f or --file_params are not recognized.
  • Cannot start Acronis Startup Recovery Manager on specific hardware (Intel Desktop Board D2500CC).
  • Centralized management:
  • It is possible to create a deduplicating vault on an Acronis Storage Node that is installed on a 32-bit machine.
  • If Acronis Managed Machine Service and Acronis Storage Node are installed on the same machine, disk-level backup of a large amount of data (more than 2 TB) to the vault managed by this storage node and with enabled deduplication fails with the "Not enough memory" error.
  • A centralized backup plan does not create an incremental backup on an RDX drive if the Store each machine's archive in the specified folder on the machine with agent option is selected in the Location window.
  • Files from a Linux disk backup in a managed vault are not displayed in the Data catalog view or in the Data view tab of the vault.
  • Acronis Storage Node Service may crash if the tape management database becomes corrupted.
  • Backup to a managed vault in a high-speed (10 Gbit) network environment takes a long time.

  • Mailbox-level backup may fail with the "Failed to create a MAPI profile. HRESULT: -2147221227" error if IPv6 is enabled on the Exchange server.
  • Not all Exchange items are backed up during mailbox-level backup. The log contains the following errors: "MAPI property type mismatch. Expected: '30'; Obtained: '235143178'."
  • Database-level backup of an Exchange Server 2003 storage group fails with the "Relative paths are not supported" error if the storage group is located in the root folder of the server.
  • CDP backup of Exchange data to a network share does not work after temporary network disconnection.
  • Cannot browse or back up a public folder database and back up a mailbox database if the Exchange server holds a mailbox role without a CAS (Client Access Server) role.
  • Exchange mailboxes with the empty proxyAddresses property are counted as data to back up in the Data to Back Up window.
  • Tapes:
  • The Overwrite a tape in the drive when creating a full backup option which is set in Tape management is always missing in an imported backup plan.
  • When several backup plans are simultaneously running, a request for a free tape may appears even if free tapes are available.

  • Installation:
  • After updating Acronis Backup & Recovery 11, the library for an Acronis Storage Node catalog (catalog_item_provider.dll) is not updated because it has no version. This leads to Acronis Storage Node crashes.
  • Local Management:
  • Disk-level backup using the Initial Seeding scheme fails with the following errors: "ProtectCommand: Failed to execute the command" and "URI is empty".
  • Centralized Management:
  • Acronis Storage Node crashes during parallel backups of multiple agents (over 20).
  • When creating a centralized vault, cannot find in the Vault Users window users and groups which use special symbols in their name.
  • Recovery from a managed vault fails if the vault is being compacted.
  • Virtualization:
  • After updating Acronis Backup & Recovery 11, backup of some of the virtual machines in a backup plan does not start if the plan is executed by VA.
  • The contents of the cache folder for catalog files on a virtual appliance (/var/lib/Acronis/BackupAndRecovery/MMS/Catalog/) are not removed after cataloging data backed up to an FTP or SMB network share via this virtual appliance or after browsing this data through the Data view of Acronis Management Console connected to the appliance.
  • Service_process.exe may hang with high CPU usage on backup tasks' activation when backing up virtual machines' data via Agent for ESX(i) (Windows) during several days of scheduled activity.
  • A virtual appliance crashes when the log files occupy all the disk space.
  • The log files are not removed from the /var/lib/Acronis/ServiceProcess/ folder on a virtual appliance according to the Log cleanup rules option. However, the log entries are removed from Acronis Management Console.

  • Installation:
  • Acronis Management Server fails to start after installation on Windows Server 2003. The error in the Windows Event Logs: "Failure Audit: Login failed for user 'AMS User'. [CLIENT: ]".
  • Installation of Acronis Management Server fails with the "Windows NT user or group 'localhost\AMS User' not found. Check the name again." error if the existing local SQL server and Acronis Management Server Service account are specified for the operational and/or reporting server during installation.
  • Acronis Storage Node Service hangs in the "Stopping" state after updating Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Update 0 to Update 0.5 in Windows 2008.
  • Cannot connect to a management server or a managed machine if Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 RTM was updated to Update 0 and then to Update 0.5 and the PXE server was installed.
  • Acronis Management Machine Service and Acronis Managed Machine Service crash and are automatically restarted when the product is updating. This leads to an incorrect behavior of the installer.
  • Acronis Managed Machine Service does not start after updating Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 to Update 0.5 because some logs have become corrupted.
  • The '.Meta' folder is removed during Acronis Storage Node uninstallation. After reinstalling Acronis Storage Node, all of its vaults become unavailable to Acronis Management Server.
  • License binding does not work when installing Agent for Linux on an ESX virtual machine and specifying the license server during the installation.
  • Local Management:
  • File-level backup does not include NFS mount points.
  • Backup to a folder which has a name that contains reserved symbols fails. For example, backup to folder 'name#3' goes as follows: The TIB file is placed in a new folder named 'name' and the XML file is placed in folder 'name#3' and the task fails.
  • Backup to a centralized managed vault finishes with the "Failed to find the URI of the last backup." error if the Disaster recovery plan (DRP) option is enabled. The archive is created and the log contains no errors.
  • Incremental backup to an Initial Seeding backup which is split into three or more parts fails with the "The base full backup cannot be found." error.
  • Archive comments are not shown in the Archive view if the archive was created using the Back up now feature.
  • The operating system does not boot after recovery if it was upgraded from Windows XP to Vista/7 in the backup archive.
  • Cannot remove backup data from catalog databases created with Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 RTM/Update 0.
  • Re-attempts are needed when a Network Attached Storage (NAS) returns the "Resource temporarily unavailable" error during backup.
  • Recovery of an incremental backup of an archive on an RDX storage (in the Removable media mode) fails if the full backup of this archive is located on another RDX storage.
  • Recovery of an incremental file backup on an RDX storage to the original location fails with the "Process 'service_process.exe' has failed." error.
  • Connection to a SilverSHielD SFTP server hangs.
  • Comments for a backup are absent in the Archive view if the archive was created in a bootable media.

  • Centralized Management:
  • Recovery, compacting and backup operations block each other if they are performed simultaneously.
  • An agent does not notify Acronis Management Server that the IP address of the agent has been changed until Acronis Managed Machine Service is restarted.
  • When an agent is deleted from Acronis Management Server, the agent's centralized recovery tasks are not deleted from Acronis Management Server.
  • Acronis Storage Node Service endlessly writes the same error to the log if the service cannot pre-allocate enough free space for the indexing activity. The log size increases rapidly.
  • Cannot export the Acronis Management Server log to an XML file correctly.
  • Acronis Management Server starts for a long time (>5 mins) after a month of work.
  • After updating Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 to Update 0.5, Acronis Management Server crashes sporadically because of a stack overflow error.

  • When browsing the contents of a tape-based vault, some of the data is read directly from the tape if all of the required catalog files are not available.
  • Replication to a tape-based vault hangs if no tape is available and the silent mode is enabled in the backup plan.
  • A backup plan works with tapes from the Acronis pool only even if a tape is located in another pool.
  • Deleting a backup using retention rules leads to inconsistency of the tape management database and the storage node's database.

  • The New virtual machine option is not available as a recovery target on the Recover data sheet in the standalone version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Update 0.5.
