AviRaw Changelog

What's new in AviRaw 3.1

Nov 9, 2009
  • Fixed file name issue for File | Export Fits Frames
  • Added drag and drop support for AVI files
  • Added recent file support in File menu

New in AviRaw 3.0 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Added an option to export frames as Fits files and at the same time optionally sum N frames before saving.
  • Changed implementation of Grayscale formula : gray = 0.299*red + 0.587*green + 0.114*blue
  • Created installation program

New in AviRaw 2.4 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Added a grayscale option to the far right on the toolbar-
  • This option should work with normal 24bit RGB and with RAW colour. When checked, the output is converted to grayscale according to the formula Gray = (R+G+B)/3
  • Also renamed "Raw luminosity" to "Raw Y-channel", because that is what it is

New in AviRaw 2.3 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • The program now runs under W9x,
  • The AviApiDll.Dll mentioned for V2.2 has been removed

New in AviRaw 2.2 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • No changes in functionality, but the program now uses AviApiDll.Dll in an attempt to isolate the problem with crashes under win98 and WinME when writing AVIs.

New in AviRaw 2.1 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Eliminated need to click outside the algorithm combo box after selecting new algorithm.
  • Added pop-up menu in frames list allowing for checking of all selected frames. To use it, perform multiple selection in the list and then right-click in the list and choose "Check selected" or "Uncheck selected"
  • Now, only checked frames will be saved when using Save As...
  • Added progress bar in status bar while converting an AVI to BMP or to new AVI
  • Enabled default toolbar radio button to "Normal"
  • Enabled default pixel order to "BG"
  • Enabled default debayer algorithm to "11-DeBayerToRGB" (i.e. same as in ersion 1.6)
  • In all debayer algorithms, except "11-DeBayerToRGB", the resulting colour image will be 8 pixels smaller in both directions.

New in AviRaw 2.0 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Added Cfx2Bmp.dll as provided by Martin Burri.
  • First iteration on reworked user interface and new debayer algorithms
  • New buttons in toolbar denoting pixel order of input raw AVI. Click BG, GB, RG or GR to see the effect.
  • Added 10 new debayer algorithms, algorithm 11 correspond to the single algorithm available in version 1.6 and earlier.

New in AviRaw 1.6 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Fixed problem with stepping up and down through frames using keyboard up/down buttons. Previous versions did not show the same frames stepping down vs. stepping up. Ok now.

New in AviRaw 1.5 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Fixed problem with missing 1st frame on saved AVIs. Hoping this might solve problems with crash on Win98 SE and Mac compatibility.
  • Framerate on output AVIs set to 5fps
  • Some minor changes internally to ensure that output AVIs do not get compressed.
  • Added option to save as BMP files instead of single AVI

New in AviRaw 1.4 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Major speed-up when opening AVIs with a large number of frames
  • Included explanatory texts in the "Save As" dialogs.
  • Included checks for missing input when trying save

New in AviRaw 1.3 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Added option to extract 3 AVIs from one AVI, one for
  • each colour channel. This works for both normal and
  • RAW AVIs.

New in AviRaw 1.21 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • Expanded features for debayerization from 2 to 4:
  • Vesta-BG = BayerBG2BGR
  • ToUcam-GB = BayerGB2BGR
  • Vesta-GR = BayerGR2BGR
  • ToUcam-RG = BayerRG2BGR

New in AviRaw 1.2 (Nov 9, 2009)

  • The program now has an icon
  • Dropped frames are now handled properly! Dropped frames are
  • indicated by missing checkmarks in the frames list when loading.
  • Saved AVI maintains information on dropped frames,
  • and is therefore handled ok by processing programs.
  • Warning issued when trying to see RAW data when input AVI is
  • already 8bit
  • Save also works via diskette button in toolbar
