Brim Changelog

What's new in Brim 1.2.0

Sep 26, 2017
  • Improved connectivity - connecting to a call (navigating firewalls etc) will be a much improved experience - it will be faster, with better reliability.
  • Team calls are now channel based! This means that your team can have many calls running simultaneously and you can hop on/off calls easily! It will be like channel surfing at home!
  • Large scale calls - let's face it, a video conference call with 200 people may not be that useful, but it can be for 15 or 20 people. However, there are 2 big problems when you do large scale calls: (1) internet bandwidth and (2) your computer's CPU. With our new "Mixer" technology, we killed 2 birds with one stone -- you'll be able to have a call with many people, with limited bandwidth usage -and- your computer won't complain about it!
  • Say goodbye to team ringing - One of the super annoying things with the old version of Brim is that each time you wanted to start a team call, it would actually ring everyone on the team. This could become very disruptive (particularly if you had a lot of people on your team). Now, when a call is started it will send an instant message to your teammates and they can simply click to join.
