New in ContourTrace 2022 2.0.11 (Mar 10, 2021)
- SVG file export function:
- In order to offer you even more possibilities, as well as to ensure even easier further processing of the contours, we expanded the export function in the new version to include an export as an SVG file.
- Simple offset generation:
- Furthermore, it is now possible to add offset contours directly in ContourTrace. This function makes additional CAD programs superfluous for many applications.
- Implemented ruler:
- To be able to work even more accurately, a self-scaling ruler can be displayed in the new version. Now it will be even easier to be sure that the dimensions and measurements of your files are correct.

- New:
- Modify contours and splines
- New user interface of the Camera Calibration Menu
- Manually modifing contours and splines now available:
- With the latest update you can now modify your contours and splines individually. Just grab one of the knobs that define the contour or spline and move it to another place. You also have the possibility to add or remove single knobs. Furthermore you can remove whole contours/splines.
- With this feature the difference between contours and splines becomes now clearly visible. While a contour consists out of straight lines that go from knob to knob, a spline is generated by the help of many control polygons. A big advantage is the tangential transitions between the single elements. This lets splines appear much smoother than contours.
- New Camera Calibration Menu:
- With this update we present you the new user interface of the Camera Calibration Menu. With the new design it is now much easier to perform the calibration and you will receive feedback in form of a total re-projection error as well as for every single picture. We also made some improvements under the surface that will ensure a much smoother and stable execution of the calibration algorithm.

- If you want know about all the functionality that ContourTrace offers check out our YouTube channel. There we have a special video series in which we explain step by step how to use ContourTrace. We also show useful tips for the practical use of the software. The videos are available in English language with English and German subtitles.
New in ContourTrace 2022 2.0.3 (Aug 4, 2020)
- New languages available:
- With the latest update you can now use ContourTrace in German, Spanish and Portuguese. To change the language go to the "Option" menu. Under "Language" you can choose your desired language.
- New tab "Invert Colors":
- We added a new tab to the upper working area. With "Invert Colors" you now have the possibility to invert the colors of your picture. Because ContourTrace detects white pixels as edges, it might happen that for objects with a white background, this background is detected as contour. By activating this tab you can avoid that and you will get the contours you really want.
- New function "Zoom to fit":
- With the new "Zoom to fit" function you will be able to restore the original size and position of the picture. This brings back the whole picture with only one click. That's especially useful after checking on a detail.
New in ContourTrace 2022 2.0.2 (Apr 30, 2020)
- PNG image format is now supported:
- The PNG (Portable Network Graphics) image format can now be opened in ContourTrace. Please note that the alpha channel is removed. Transparent image areas are either displayed black or get the color which is stored in the RGB channel of the respective pixel. If this is not desired, it is recommended to use a graphics program of your choice to convert the transparency to a specific color (e.g. white) and remove the alpha channel.
- Improved User Interface:
- The update brings many small improvements in the user interface. This includes the addition of a scale and a spin button to each slider. So all settings can be made precisely.
