Diskeeper Home Edition Changelog

What's new in Diskeeper Home Edition 16.0.1017.0

Aug 2, 2012
  • New User Interface:
  • The Diskeeper Interface has been given a more modern look and feel, simplified navigation and drill-down architecture of information.
  • Alerting Mechanism:
  • This high level alerting mechanism will let you know at a glance if your system has any problems relating to performance, disk health and configuration settings.
  • Reporting Mechanism:
  • The reporting mechanism provides current and historical reports about your system.
  • Disk Health:
  • The Disk Health feature monitors hard disk drives for S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) data to generate alerts and provides a disk health report.
  • System Monitoring:
  • System Monitoring monitors system environment activity and provides reporting on key elements.
  • HyperBoot:
  • HyperBoot technology has been incorporated into Diskeeper to improve system boot time.
  • Space Reclamation:
  • Space Reclamation allows you to manually zero out unused space on a selected volume.
  • CogniSAN:
  • This technology detects external resource usage within a shared storage system, such as a SAN, and allows for transparent optimization by never competing for resources utilized by other VMs over the same storage infrastructure. Important: CogniSAN does this without intruding in any way into SAN-layer operations. Any and all SANs are supported!
  • HyperFast Improvements:
  • HyperFast now includes TRIM that further improves Solid State Drive (SSD) performance and longevity.

New in Diskeeper Home Edition 15.0.954.0 (May 20, 2011)

  • New Instant Defrag:
  • Diskeeper 2011 also includes new “just in time” Instant Defrag™ technology to eliminate any fragmentation that wasn’t prevented within seconds or milliseconds of occurring. Now you will never have to access slow, fragmented files ever again.
  • Improved automatic background processing:
  • InvisiTasking technology has taken on a more “green” approach by allowing defragmentation to occur while your system is actively in use, but still doing so with zero overhead — so it won’t slow you down while you work or play.
  • InvisiTasking is now more intelligent about when to interject defrag while a disk is active. The result is greater energy savings and more efficient background processing. Even systems that are never “idle” are defragmented invisibly with zero resource hits.
  • New optimized defrag options reduce I/O activity:
  • Advanced algorithms are used to maximize performance while eliminating disk I/O activity not conducive to improving your computing experience. Maximum performance from minimal effort!
  • I/O is an abbreviation of Input / Output and refers to the transfer of data to or from an application. Disk I/O is responsible for almost all slow website and desktop applications.
  • New performance reports track your savings:
  • New performance report tracks how many I/Os Diskeeper helped save your system, making it even easier to gauge the benefits of running Diskeeper on your computer. Additional reports make it easy to see read and write access time improvements and how much fragmentation was prevented and eliminated from your PC.

New in Diskeeper Home Edition 2010 14.0.896.0 (Dec 23, 2009)

  • IntelliWrite - Fragmentation Prevention:
  • IntelliWrite is a ground breaking technology that prevents the majority of fragmentation from ever occurring, dramatically improving Windows system performance.
  • A small percentage of fragmentation is not preventable and will be eliminated by Automatic Defragmentation. The combination of IntelliWrite and Automatic Defragmentation will keep your system running at optimum performance in the most effective and efficient way possible.
  • Prevention of fragmentation with IntelliWrite has been found to be more efficient than other defragmentation methods. IntelliWrite reduces the need for disk head movement and results in a reduction of system resource usage and power consumption.
