New in EDGE Diagram Reader 6.2 (May 9, 2012)

  • Multiple Sheet Support:
  • A single diagram can now be divided among multiple sheets within the same file. Sheets are essentially pages, though they can also be divided into individual physical pages for printing purposes. All sheets within a diagram are considered extensions of the same diagram and therefore share the same diagram properties and styles.

New in EDGE Diagram Reader 6.13 (May 9, 2012)

  • Copy Object Properties:
  • A subset of the most commonly edited diagram object properties can be copied and pasted to other objects of the same kind using the Copy Properties and Paste Properties features, also available using Ctrl+Shift+C and Ctrl+Shift+V.

New in EDGE Diagram Reader 6.12 (May 9, 2012)

  • Looped Arc Connectors
  • Arc connectors were improved in several ways. They now include the capability to form closed loops, particularly important for state transition diagrams and self-references. Plus, the method used to stretch an arc can now be selected as an option.

New in EDGE Diagram Reader 6.10 (May 9, 2012)

  • Arc Connectors:
  • A new type of curved connector in the form of a simple arc has been added. Arcs are similar to other curves but they typically have only a single segment. Unlike other curves, the control point of the arc is a separate entity marked by an open circle, as opposed to junctions which are used to define control points for other types of curves.

New in EDGE Diagram Reader 6.08 (May 9, 2012)

  • Reapply Styles:
  • A simple feature has been added to allow the original style attributes to be restored to any object. The feature is available in the menus for each type of object as well as the right-click menu.

New in EDGE Diagram Reader 6.06 (May 9, 2012)

  • Text Edit Context Menu:
  • While editing text (in Text mode), right-click now launches a context menu for easy access to commands like Cut, Copy, Paste, and so on, including the new Undo, Redo, and Insert Field commands.
  • Text Fields:
  • Simple text fields can now be added to figure or label text. A text field is a string of text that reflects information about the diagram. Fields available in this version include file name, creation time, and last save time. Multiple formats are supported for each. Fields can be inserted into text by placing the text caret and choosing Insert Field from the main Edit menu or from the right click menu.
  • Text Edit Undo/Redo:
  • Individual text edits can now be undone one at a time. While editing text in text mode, Undo is available from the Edit menu, from the right click context menu, or by the Ctrl-Z shortcut key sequence. Redo is available in text mode as well (menu or Ctrl-Y). Note that Redo is not yet supported beyond text mode.
  • Text Style "All Caps":
  • A range of text can now be given an All Caps style which forces the text to be displayed in all capital letters (if possible). The All Caps style works similar to Bold or Italics. By default, it is available only in the context (right-click) menu, but you can add a custom toolbar button if you prefer. The main usage is to provide a way to force inserted text fields to be all capital letters.

New in EDGE Diagram Reader 6.05 (May 9, 2012)

  • Improved support for importing large JPG and PNG graphics
  • Improved import and storage of larger JPG and PNG files, typically for use as background images. Larger imported graphic images now result in more compact storage with a more practical affect on the size of diagram files. This is achieved by sacrificing some of the image processing capabilities available for smaller graphics which are typically used for defining 'shapes' within a diagram, capabilities less useful for backgrounds. Large imported JPG and PNG files are now treated as simple rectangular images, though PNGs may still contain transparency and thus fitted bounds.

New in EDGE Diagram Reader 6.04 (May 9, 2012)

  • Background Layer
  • A background layer capability has been added. Objects placed on the background layer appear behind your diagram but do not interfere with any editing you do in the foreground.
