EZdrummer Changelog

What's new in EZdrummer 3.0.6 Commercialware

Feb 9, 2023
  • CHANGES:
  • General:
  • The Mac AAX now has native Apple silicon support.
  • High-resolution graphics have been added to more GUI elements.
  • Trial mode support has been added.
  • E-Drums:
  • A GEWA preset has been added.
  • Positional sensing has been added to the snare in the DTX-PROX preset.
  • BUG FIXES:
  • General:
  • Loading certain projects could cause a crash – projects where an instrument had been replaced with one with more articulations and an e-drum mapping had been added for some of those articulations.
  • In Twisted Kit EZX, the body graphics did not look right.
  • The hi-hat pedal in In the Pocket EZX no longer graphically overlaps a snare stand.
  • Song Track:
  • In the time signature editor, it is now possible to move several time signatures at a time.
  • The numerator in the time signature editor is now limited to 127 instead of 32.
  • Drums Tab:
  • Turning and releasing the pitch knob did not properly repitch stacked sounds.
  • Grid Editor:
  • It was not possible to drag-insert choke notes (except by starting on a different row).
  • When drag-inserting and moving to a choke row, the choke notes were not displayed with the choke symbol (until the mouse button was released).
  • Moving a regular note to a choke row or moving a choke note would make a horizontal line appear on the original note.
  • In the Channel Aftertouch editor, for each block that was inserted, the other blocks got smaller.
  • Bandmate:
  • Fixed a potential crash when mouse wheel was used in Bandmate.
  • E-Drums:
  • Alesis Surge and Nitro preset fixes (affecting note numbers for hats, ride and crash).
  • MIDI Mapping Layout Window:
  • Right-clicking an instrument (so the selection changes without playing the instrument) no longer triggers Highlight Played Instrument in the layout window.
  • Selecting “Show MIDI Mapping Layout” from an instrument context menu would under certain conditions increase the layout window width.

New in EZdrummer 3.0.5 Commercialware (Nov 1, 2022)

  • General:
  • Added high-resolution graphics for several menu icons and buttons, etc.
  • Improved readability of the main tab labels and improved color cohesiveness with tab content below selected tab.
  • Grid Editor:
  • A new articulation row called “Choke (Stop Playing)” has been added for each instrument that responds to aftertouch. The poly-aftertouch editors have been removed.
  • Moving the playhead in the song track now scrolls the Grid Editor to show the playhead, unless the Auto-Scroll option is off.
  • E-Drums:
  • The hi-hat splash feature has been improved in order to remove unwanted hi-hat splashes. The hi-hat now has a time window, within which the pedal needs to have been raised after a “Pedal Closed” hit in order to generate a splash.
  • Settings:
  • On Windows, there is now a setting to invert the horizontal scroll direction when shift+wheel is used.
  • BUG FIXES:
  • General:
  • Some (few) EZX presets would for some instruments cause a high-pitched noise at low buffer sizes.
  • The current library preset was not marked with an asterisk if a mixer knob was turned.
  • Printing the MIDI layout with the plug-in scale being other than 100% would cause some texts to be incorrectly positioned and sometimes truncated.
  • Quitting certain hosts when the VST 3 plug-in had been used could cause a crash.
  • The setting “Keep on Preset Change: Output Routing” was never saved in preferences.
  • Loading a project at the same time as the host was changing the plug-in parameters could potentially cause a crash.
  • Changing libraries or loading a preset did not make the host get properly notified that parameter values (mixer knob values) had changed.

New in EZdrummer 3.0.4 (Sep 12, 2022)

  • General:
  • A print function has been added to the MIDI Mapping Layout window.
  • BUG FIXES:
  • General:
  • Loading a Drums and Mixer Preset from the EZdrummer 3 core libraries or Big Stage EZX did not properly set the values of the mixer effect knobs.
  • Loading cymbals or toms from the other side of the stereo field did not automatically flip their stereo position like EZdrummer 2 did. Importing EZdrummer 2 projects or loading user presets could also have this issue.
  • On Windows, loading an auto-save would incorrectly treat it as a normal project and it would be added to the Open Recent menu.
  • Song Track:
  • In Steinberg hosts when host playback was started and the plug-in window had not yet been opened, MIDI on the song track would not always be played at the beginning, depending on the playhead position and where it had last been stopped. Performing an Audio Mixdown would also result in silence from the song track before the position was reached where playback had last been stopped.
  • In Steinberg hosts, starting playback of the song track inside the plug-in (with the host still paused) not would not work properly if the SD3 playhead had been moved to an earlier position than the host playhead (with the Follow Host setting on).
  • Exporting the track as audio having a sample rate other than 44100 Hz could in some cases lead to a crash.
  • On Windows, it did not work to export as audio to a folder whose path contained non-ASCII characters. If instead the filenames (the chosen prefix) contained such characters, the export would work but some extra empty files would be created.
  • The time signature editor would in some case contain the wrong Options menu – the one for the tempo editor.
  • E-Drums/MIDI In:
  • When Add or Learn Note/CC was used, the new line in the mapping list was sometimes not immediately visible.
  • Editing the hi-hat CC control did not enable/disable the hi-hat calibration slider when needed.
