• Interval singing exercise! Interval singing: EarMaster plays a tone and tells you to sing or play an interval above or below this tone.
• Rhythm notation exercise! Rhythm notation: EarMaster plays a rhythm; you transcribe it on the staff. EarMaster evaluates how close you came.
• New Jazz tutor! Includes 211 lessons specific to jazz, focusing on jazz harmonies and swing rhythms. The jazz tutor is a supplement to the standard tutor. Some of the exercise areas have a high entry level, so beginners may want to start with the standard tutor.
• New standard tutor! More lessons and better instructions. It now includes 440 lessons! The difficulty of lessons ranges from beginner to very advanced.
• Improved Tutor editor!
• (EarMaster School only) The Tutor editor is greatly improved, with many new features and an updated interface for easy usage. With a single click you can try the selected lesson in EarMaster to test your settings.

• (EarMaster School only) Teachers can follow the progress of each student with live scores and statistics (if EarMaster is used on a network computer).

• Voicing options! New voicing options in chord identification: chords can now be played in root position, closed voicing and open voicing (EarMaster 4.0 was restricted to root position).

• Swing jazz rhythms! EarMaster now support swing jazz rhythms with the option to shuffle (swing) 8th notes and/or 16th notes.
• Live rhythm clapping feedback! All claps are shown in the staff while clapping! The claps are placed relative to the notes in the score to show the exact timing of your claps.
• Improved MIDI input! MIDI remote control of key features by tone, controller and program change. In the chord progression exercise, chords can now also be input by MIDI (detecting root tone and quality).
• Improved melodies for Melodic dictation! The algorithm that creates melodies has been improved so melodies sound better. Melodies can now be made from custom scales (defined in the scale section). Eighth notes and sixteenth notes rhythm values are now possible and they can be played with swing feeling.
• Solfege tone naming! Set default tone naming to standard Anglo-Saxon (C, D, E, etc) or solfege (Do, Re, Mi, etc.)
• Transposing instruments! Use EarMaster with a transposing instrument. You can set the relation between transcribed and sounding tones.
• Evaluate note length! In the rhythm clapping exercises you can have EarMaster evaluate the length of the notes you clap.
• Free-style rhythm clapping! In rhythm imitation and rhythm reading exercises, you can now clap without a metronome - starting any time after the rhythm is played.
• Improved user statistics!
• (EarMaster School only) Teachers have access to more detailed student statistics. The statistics window is now integrated with the user list for an easy overview of students� progress.
• "Family support!" All family members can use EarMaster Pro on the same computer. Users are identified by their Windows username. Note: Network sharing is still possible only with EarMaster School.
• User maintenance window!
• (EarMaster School only) New user maintenance window for teachers to easily add, delete and manage users.
• Test facilities! Time limit on answering questions, limit the number of times the question can be played, and more...
• With these new capabilities, EarMaster Pro users can test themselves in any lesson, and teachers in EarMaster School can set up a test of the students.

• (EarMaster School only) EarMaster School is now much easier to install on a network. It can run directly from a server, which means that client computers need no installation and no configuration!
