Endpoint Encryption Changelog

What's new in Endpoint Encryption 4.6.9.8319

Aug 26, 2010
  • Fixes:
  • The file and process monitoring logic running on 32 bit should now properly work without regard to the bitness of the application working with the secured document. Users on 64 bit machines, running the eUSB Client or a standalone executable, risked to encounter problems when saving changes to a document.
  • Fixed an issue regarding the process monitoring logic, and it being activate for processes belonging to other users. In some cases, that could cause unexpected eFile and eUSB behaviour within a multi-user environment (Terminal Server environments).
  • Fixed an issue that could occur if a quick change was made to a secured document (quickly performing open, edit, save, close). This could result in that changes didn't get properly reflected to the secured area.
  • The workflow should now properly follow the user instructions given in the 'confirm overwrite'-dialog that shows when changes has already been made to a secured document by another user or process. If the user cancels the dialog, the securing-procedure will now properly be canceled. The 'Save as Copy' button on this dialog has been renamed to 'Create Copy', to better represent the action.
  • The 'confirm overwrite'-dialog that shows when changes has already been made to a secured document by another user or process will now only appear when supposed to.
  • The intended template for a document-type should now properly be used when creating a new document within a secured area. Secured eFile & eUSB
  • Resolved an issue on 64 bit machines, running Microsoft Office. Secured Microsoft Word Documents was incorrectly opened for editing by Wordpad instead of Microsoft Word. Secured eFile should now handle file-associations in the same way as the the current OS on any architecture. Secured eFile
  • Resolved an text resource issue where a caption was missing from a button in the frontend-dialog. The dialog appears when running a standalone executable, created out from a secured file.
  • Improvements:
  • Improved eFile securing procedures within environments running Kaspersky Antivirus. The Antivirus solutions made files inaccessible by user level processes, causing the securing operation to fail with a 'file not found' error. Some changes has been made to counter this scenario, in turn causing failure to occur less frequent.

New in Endpoint Encryption 4.2.8 (Sep 1, 2009)

  • Fixes:
  • SEP Client 4.2 installation issue has been resolved where it used to install a side by side copy when installed over 4.0 Client.

Earlier this confirmation message used to display wrong path for overwriting, This has been fixed to display correct path for overwriting file.
