- A project saved with newline symbols in Company Name could not be opened again.
- Installation packages with UNC pathnames could not be created.
- The maximum length of a package file path could not exceed MAX_PATH (260 characters).
- NSIS scripts with branding images could not be compiled outside of Excelsior Installer/Delivery.
- Integration with Windows Explorer did not work properly on 64-bit Windows.
- Excelsior Uninstaller did not show help page with its command line options.
- Image files in .png format now can be chosen for splash screen.
New in Excelsior Installer 2.1 (Sep 8, 2010)
- Full 64-bit Windows folder access:
- 64-bit variations of special Windows folders, such as Program Files, Common Files and SysWoW64, are made available for selection as a target for installation roots. If the package uses such targets then the installer will not set it up on 32-bit Windows.
- Subfolders for shortcuts:
- It is made possible to create subfolders of shortcuts folder at Start Menu \ Programs of the target system.
- Low resolution screens supported:
- If your screen is too small for the Packager window (1020 х 670 pixels), it will now automatically expose appropriate scrollbars to make it possible to work on, say, netbooks.
- Uninstallation completion check:
- The uninstaller now supports two new parameters which help to wait for the uninstallation completion and to check if it was successful.
- Automatic update check:
- The Packager is now able to check Excelsior site for updates of the product you use. The check is performed once a month by default. You may choose the option to perform only manual update checks.
- Bugs corrected:
- The "Install" button was by mistake active when the application folder was not set up yet.
- "Runtime error #3(trap)" arose during export to NSIS of projects with long filenames.
- German translation improved
New in Excelsior Installer 1.8 (Apr 6, 2009)
- NSIS integration. Excelsior Installer is now able to build your setup package with NSIS. You may use Excelsior Installer as a GUI front-end for NSIS or use this feature to migrate your project to NSIS whenever necessary.
