ExeShield Protector Changelog

What's new in ExeShield Protector 4.6.4.12

May 5, 2010
  • You can now have your application run with admin rights under Vista/Windows 7 (UAC). We do not recommend using this unless your application needs admin rights.
  • The UAC prompt will either scare away end-users, or potentially have security vulnerability.
  • Key Manager has been rewritten, it is smaller and will load faster.
  • USB Dongle Update has been removed. We will update this in a future release.
  • You can now block keys using the key manager. This option is only available in the Pro version. If a user downloads an update and their key is blocked the software will revert back to a trial.
  • Minor Bug Fixes.

New in ExeShield Protector 4.5.1.5 (May 31, 2009)

  • Parameters added under the "Protection" options tab.
  • Enter the parameters you want to pass to the application when it starts.
  • You can now register your application via the command line.
  • c: empproject1.exe /USERNAME=Mike /KEY=119F-7527-A3E4-1540-0CF1
  • This will now allow you to register your program within your application.

New in ExeShield Protector 4.4.4.7 (Apr 4, 2009)

  • Auto Zip license file added.
  • No longer have to fill in all the fields when creating unlock code.
  • Minor bug fixes.
  • Add APPDIRECTORY enviroment variable. Displays the directory
  • that your application is installed in.
  • Under Vista all directories outside the users home directory do not
  • have write access. If you install your application outside the users Home
  • directory and write access is denied, then the protected application will
  • execute in the users TEMP directory.

New in ExeShield Protector 4.0 (Sep 15, 2008)

  • Splash Screen can now be updated without checking "Reset trial period on newer version"
  • More anti-cracking code
  • Improved Anti-Debugging code
  • Minor bug fixes
  • Better compatibility with Windows 98

New in ExeShield Protector 3.9d (Aug 8, 2007)

  • Added more cracking tool checking.
  • Added new feature, "Online Registration" under the help file. If you change
  • or upgrade your machine, you will need a new license file for ExeShield. This
  • feature allows you to register the software over the internet without contacting
  • us for a license file. This feature is also being tested so we can eventually add
  • this into Exeshield so you can use this with your protected software.
  • If you are using dongles to protect your software, you can now tie
  • in the Product Identifier to the dongle if you need to charge for upgrades. This allows you
  • to change the product Identifier on newer versions, and send a new
  • dongle/software to your customer.
  • For languages that can't retrieve environment variables, a file called
  • REGNUM.TXT will be created in the users TEMP directory containing the
  • registration number that is located on the Splash Screen.
  • Under "File" you can now check for updates on startup.
