- Added the basic support of containers and physical drives encrypted with TrueCrypt.
- Added a free version (Cryptic Disk Free) that includes all of the key features of Cryptic Disk 3 Home Edition. Home Edition is no longer available. Owners of Cryptic Disk 3 Home Edition licenses can upgrade to Cryptic Disk Professional with an additional discount.
- All extra features of Cryptic Disk 3 Ultimate Edition are included in Cryptic Disk Professional. Ultimate Edition is no longer available. Ultimate Edition licenses are compatible with Cryptic Disk Professional.
- The demo version of Cryptic Disk Professional has only one limitation now: a free 30-day trial period. During this period, all program features are available without limitations. After the expiry of this period, the program will continue to work, but all encrypted data will be available in the read-only mode.

- Added an option to enable/disable the automatic recovery of the time of the most recent modification of a container file. When using backup tools, you need to keep the file modification time updated. Previously, the container file modification time was always restored.
- Improved the work of the program with processors featuring hardware support of the AES encryption algorithm. The load on such CPU's (when using the AES algorithm) has been dramatically reduced.
- Improved the speed of reading data from encrypted SSD drives.
- The program will now request extended permissions when creating an encrypted container. If the user declines the request, the program will create a container with current permissions.
- A number of minor improvements and fixes.
- Fixed a bug that made it impossible to use encrypted containers on disks with 4 Kb sectors. Only containers created in the new version of the program can be used on such disks.

- If the program cannot complete the formatting of an encrypted volume or container, it displays a notification with a description of the problem. For instance, when an encrypted container is created, the program will not be able to format it if it was started with lower privileges.
- Improved UAC (User Account Control) support. When an action requiring higher privileges is executed, the program automatically restarts with higher privileges and opens a window corresponding to the selected action.

- The algorithms used for protecting data on encrypted disks, have been heavily modified, which enabled us to drastically improve the data protection aspect of the program.
- Added an ability to encrypt disks without losing any information – all the information stored on the disk is encrypted.
- Added an ability to create virtual encrypted disks based on file containers mounted as physical drives.
- By default, encrypted disks have no signatures that can help determine that these disks were created by Cryptic Disk.

- Added support of cascade encryption using several encryption algorithms. Users can now select the algorithms and their sequence. This capability makes it possible to increase the length of the encryption key to 2944 bits and dramatically improve the quality of data protection.
- The new version of the program features a security mechanism against brute force attacks compliant with the PKCS #5 v2.0 specification. The user can select the algorithms used for obtaining the header encryption key: HMAC-SHA-512, HMAC-RIPEMD-256 or HMAC-Whirlpool.
- The "CBC" data encryption mode has been replaced with "XTS", which was developed specifically for encrypting data on storage devices and drives all different types.
- Added a virtual keyboard for protecting passwords from being intercepted by key loggers.

- When unmounting an encrypted disk used by other programs, Cryptic Disk shows a corresponding notification with a list of these programs.

- The "Automatic mounting" feature is no longer supported. Instead, users can configure individual hotkey combinations for each encrypted disk.
- Encrypted disks created by older versions of the program (Cryptic Disk 2.x) are no longer supported (due to the changes in the structure of encrypted disks and protection algorithms in the new version).
- Disk encryption without the encryption of its partition table is not supported to exclude the possibility of its being damaged by the operating system. The program suggests creating a partition on such disks.
