FSPViewer Changelog

What's new in FSPViewer 1.51

Oct 23, 2009
  • Fixed: hotspots very near to zenith or nadir did not show correctly.
  • Added a command line switch to start the viewer in full screen.
  • Now pressing the "F" key will show the panoramic image in full-screen mode. This is a keyboard shortcut for the command introduced in the previous version.

New in FSPViewer 1.5 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Added a command to show the panoramic image in true full-screen mode, rather in a maximized window.
  • Added support for dual core processors. The program will run much faster on those processors. Even with single core Pentium HT processors it will be faster. Running faster means that panning will be smoother.
  • Now the program remembers its window's size and location.
  • Added a command line switch to show the image with hotspots enabled.
  • Added command line switches to set the program window's position and size on the screen.

New in FSPViewer 1.41 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • This version fixes a bug that caused the viewer to crash on a limited number of computers.

New in FSPViewer 1.4 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Smoother panning: the program is now noticeably faster with Pentium 4 CPUs. Performance does not change much with Pentium III CPUs.
  • Now it is possible to see the zenith and the nadir in the middle of the screen.
  • Added new parameter HorizonPosition
  • Added a new "Help/Usage" window to show usage info. Removed those info from the "Help/About" window.

New in FSPViewer 1.3 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Added a slider in the toolbar to make the image brighter or darker. You can also press the B or D key.
  • Fixed: now TIFF images created by SmartBlend are not displayed upside down anymore.

New in FSPViewer 1.23 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Fixed: closing the program while it was still computing a high quality image caused an error.
  • Fixed a bug when clicking a hotspot while the program was still computing a high quality image.

New in FSPViewer 1.22 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Added support for TIFF files. TIFF files may be very different in their format, so I decided to only support the more common ones: RGB color model, 8 or 16 bit per channel, 3 or 4 channels per pixel (RGB or RGBA), single imageplane, strip structure (tiles not supported). LZW compression is supported.

New in FSPViewer 1.21 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Fixed bugs that caused errors when setting hFov and MinPitch in the .FSV file.
  • Removed the white flashing when resizing the program's window.
  • Now it is possible to set a default hFov value to be used when opening an image (Tools/Options menu).
  • Support for Windows XP look and feel.
  • Corrected bug that caused a strange behavior with very large screens.
  • Changed the maximum hFov value to 140°.
  • Added support for command line switches to set the initial viewpoint and more (see below).
  • Changed the license terms (see below).

New in FSPViewer 1.2 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Fixed some small bug.
  • Panning in now slightly faster.
  • Added the ability to use bilinear interpolation while panning. This option greatly reduces the "shimmering" effect that you can see while panning very slowly.

New in FSPViewer 1.12 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused strange behaviors or crashes while clicking a hotspot.
  • Changed the maximum horizontal field of view from 70° to 100°.

New in FSPViewer 1.11 (Oct 23, 2009)

  • Now mouse panning works in a standard way: just click and drag a little, and the image will keep moving until you release the mouse button.
  • I have moved the computation of the high quality view to another thread, so now the user interface is always smooth. In version 1.0 the panorama stopped panning while calculating that view.
  • Version 1.11 corrects a bug in version 1.1: the viewer crashed when resizing the window.
