FirstPROOF Changelog

What's new in FirstPROOF 6.1.0

Mar 27, 2015
  • Added support for 64-bit PGBs in HMR-10.
  • Extended maximum width of Separation List window (from 256 to 512), to allow for better viewing of spot color separations with long names.
  • Minor fixes for invalid TIFF files (such as ones with missing or “0 dpi” resolutions, etc…).

New in FirstPROOF 5.2.0 (Mar 27, 2015)

  • Added additional zoom levels. This is enabled in the “Configure FirstPROOF”, “View” panel where you can select “Extended Views”. It provides a number of additional zoom levels between those previously available, giving smoother zoom in/out capability. It also provides for a more accurate “Best Fit”. The only caveat to be aware of is that for very large page sizes, down sampling the additional zoom levels does take longer, especially when Color Management is enabled. It is therefore recommended that this option is only enabled if Color Management is disabled, or if you have a fast CPU (2.4GHz Core Duo or above).
  • Added Import/Export of Color Manager data (alongside Dot Gain and Spectral data).
  • Used the “ImageDescription” tag from Nexus TIFF files to determine the color of a separation.
  • Added a “Dantex TIFF Files” (“%j_%~{_}c.tif[f]”) filter in the Filter Manager.
  • Fixed drawing of the center pixel for different scale factors – now correctly centers it.
