FontExplorer X Server Changelog

What's new in FontExplorer X Server 1.9.1 (10099)

Nov 15, 2014
  • Resolved:
  • FontExplorer X Server users were required to login using a case-sensitive username. Login names are now case-insensitive which means that "Username", "username" and "USERNAME" are all recognized as the same user
  • The FontExplorer X Server crashed when multiple administrators were browsing in the configured LDAP panel at the same time.
  • If the name of an LDAP Organizational Unit (OU) contained special characters such as *, /, comma, square brackets, +, =, , &, #, quotes, ( or ) then the users inside that group or any nested group were not shown
  • When an LDAP Group and its Users were deleted in the Active Directory they were not removed from the FontExplorer X Server Users and Groups after a scheduled synchronization
  • Fonts that were removed from the Server were incorrectly being shown in an exported License Report when certain filters were set
  • When Fonts were removed from the Server they were incorrectly shown in the License View when filtering was applied
  • The “Reset password” button on the server panel was disabled when the FontExplorer X Server was running on a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (32 or 64-bit) virtual machine (Windows only)
  • The FontExplorer X Server status sometimes did not correctly change from "Starting up" to "Running" after the server restarted (Windows only)

New in FontExplorer X Server 1.7.1 (7871) (Feb 19, 2013)

  • New or Changed Server Features:
  • When an LDAP synchronization fails, further attempts will automatically occur at 30 minute intervals. If, after three attempts, it is still not possible to synchronize, an error message will be logged and an e-mail send to the administrator provided the e-mail settings have been configured. On manual synchronization, an error message will be displayed on the client machine that initiated the synchronization command
  • Resolved:
  • Following an update from FontExplorer X Server version 1.5.x to 1.7 it was not possible to download fonts from the server
  • If a scheduled synchronization failed due to an error on the LDAP server, users already imported into FontExplorer X Server were getting deleted
  • After updating from FontExplorer X Server version 1.6.1 to 1.7, it occasionally occurred that the used font license counts were no longer accurate
  • When the FontExplorer X and LDAP servers went into an idle state for an extended period of time (24+ hours) immediately following a synchronization, users were getting deleted from the FontExplorer X Server
  • The FontExplorer X Server crashed and automatically restarted if the LDAP server was unavailable at the time a scheduled synchronization started
  • Configured domains may sporadically disappear from the FontExplorer X LDAP panel if the LDAP server could not be reached
