New in Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway 2010 07.00.7509.100 Beta 3 (Jun 10, 2009)

  • Web proxy port changes
  • If you change the Web proxy port on the LocalHost, URL filtering will no longer work. To avoid this problem, after you change the Web proxy port on the LocalHost, restart the Firewall service.
  • URL category override
  • If you create a URL category override using a wildcard character in this format:
  • *.contoso.com
  • it will work for http://a.contoso.com and http://b.contoso.com, but not for http://contoso.com. To avoid this issue, create a specific override for contoso.com, in addition to *.contoso.com.
  • URL database status
  • At the time of this release, the URL database content is being populated. As this process continues, URL filtering effectiveness will increase.
  • Microsoft Reputation Service
  • The URL Filtering feature depends upon the Microsoft Reputation (MRS), which is currently a Beta service. In the unlikely event that the service fails, URL categorization will not work.
