  • Fixed: Syriac characters in UTF-8 GEDCOM files were not interpreted and displayed correctly.

  • Fixed: UTF-8 files without the expected Windows "BOM" header to identify them as such are now loaded without error if "CHAR UTF-8" appears in the HEAD section of the GEDCOM file.
  • IMPROVED: Instead of causing an Unexpected Program Error, an error message is now shown in the display window if the file does not comply with the GEDCOM data standard. (This is usually caused by a genealogy program exporting newline characters that do not comply with the GEDCOM standard.)
