  • VoD P2P:
  • Goalbit now offers the possibility to distribute and watch VoD videos with its P2P protocol. People watching the same VoD will be also sharing parts of it between them. This functionality right now is only available in the professional suite, and a demo of it will soon be available in the Starter Suite.
  • Slider in the web player for Live channels and VoD videos:
  • So, when watching a Goalbit stream (live or VoD) you will be able to back and forward.
  • Updated miniUPnP
  • Performance improved and bugs fixed:
  • As usual, we hope you notice the difference! Specially the improvement in the hard drive storage.

  • Web broadcast yourself!
  • Since the last release we are able to broadcast web, you can try this in the StarterSuite.
  • Now, it is capable of broadcasting in an encrypted channel, though this is only available in the GoalBit suite.
  • Improvements in the look of the web messages and warnings
  • New icons, better definition, low CPU consuming, not that disturbing...

  • Web broadcast yourself!
  • The Goalbit Web Plugin is now capable of broadcasting. Soon we will publish the web page to do this.
  • Improvements in performance
  • Great, great and wonderful improvements in the peer behaviour that results in a really smooth experience! There ain't no words to describe the hard work and love poured into it.
  • The most visible improvement in behaviour: now you will see a ball orbiting the buffering percentage instead of ya old lazy blue wheel cart

  • With an updated version of UPnP we hope to improve the chances of getting the listening port forwarded!

  • Information, warning and error messages incorporated:
  • Now the web plugin shows this kinds of messages, trying to be as useful as possible.
  • Information on download and upoad rate will be displayed at will when hovering the mouse on the Info icon.
  • Warning messages will only appear if quality is at risk, and only once, while error messages will only appear if it is not possible to play the video stream.
  • No more akward start for H.264 video streams:
  • Sometimes H.264 video streams used to start with an image full of green spots and so. It has been fixed for this codec for now..

  • Throughout several broadcasting occasions the peers behavior has been studied. As a consequence of this we have made some changes in our protocol in order to improve the buffering time and lower quantity of rebufferings.

  • Now Goalbit can be launched from a web page as a plugin for the most popular browsers. Test it in Golabit-Solutions!
  • Version number in .goalbit files
  • We have added a version number in .goalbit files and you will be notified if you are trying to open a file with a different version from the accepted one.
  • Adjustments in encription
  • The encription process has been improved, especially when encripting a professional broadcasting.

  • We have detected and fixed some minor bugs in the general behavior of the player.
  • Kad stability
  • Kad protocol continues growing in stability and performance.

  • Bug fix: Trackerless problem in Windows.

  • Note: Kad protocol of Goalbit 0.6.0 is deprecated, it won't work with Goalbit 0.6.1 clients.
  • Bug fix: Problem in Theora codec.
  • We solved a problem in the theora packetizer and we add it as our default profile (Theora/Vorbis over OGG) for broadcasting.
  • Goalbit protocol registry in Windows!.
  • Now, when you install Goalbit in your Windows PC, the "goalbit://" protocol is registrated in the OS, so you can access to the streamings just by clicking on a goalbit:// web link!
  • Improvements in "Reset Goalbit player preferences and cache files" option.
  • Now, when using this option, we also delete the application data cache (peer to peer cache, channels' logos, etc.)
  • Bug fix: General problems in the GUI.
  • Periodically updates to the Kad .met file.
  • Now Goalbit saves periodically in your .met file, the information about the Kad peers that you are talking with.
