  • Image export: Choosing arbitrary colours (not just black and white) works again. Legacy parameter "outline_width" is no longer read from settings and presets; use "inset_outline_width" and "sel_outline_width". It can export to JPEG XL if libjxl is available.
  • HDF5: Support for non-image data in Shilps Sciences Lucent files was added. Image data can be imported from generic and Matlab 7.x HDF5 files.
  • Olympus OIR: Pixel size calibration factors are taken into account, correcting small physical size discrepancies.
  • HDR image: Uniform multi-page TIFFs can be imported as volume data.
  • JPK: Force maps (QI data) are imported as a curve map, replacing the crude rasterisation to volume data.
  • XYZ Rasterize: It is possible to go back to previous selected area. The Field representation has a tunable power parameter.
  • XYZ Split: top-down, left-right directions clarified.
  • Dimensions and Units: Now also exists for XYZ data.
  • Crop tool: Option to crop all compatible images was added.
  • Spot remove tool: Offset of actually interpolated area from the selection for small images was fixed.
  • Statistical quantities tool: Inclination is computed also for masked data.
  • Volume equiplane: A few more elementary scanning options were added.
  • Volume Z-pos level: Can average over several XY planes.
  • Transfer function estimate, volume transfer function: Can show difference image with adapted colour mapping.
  • Volume transfer function: Uninitialised memory use, causing occasional outliers in difference norm plots was fixed.
  • Volume stray field: Can show XY slices of both input and calculated data. Crashes were fixed and GUI cleaned up.
  • Measure lattice: Images with fixed colour mapping are shown correctly in the preview instead of (frequently) blank.
  • NMM file: Data can be filtered using an error channel and images shown with physical aspect ratio by default.
  • Sensolytics: Support for 3.x file formats was added, including some complex data sources.
  • ASCII export: Can read back its own output, mostly. An option to keep the informational header untranslated was added.
  • 3D formats STL, WSxM: Files are written in binary mode, correcting broken files exported in MS Windows.

  • Olympus OIR: Image properties are matched using UUIDs, fixing sometimes mismatched Height/Intensity/Invalid channels. Support for files with an extra XML chunk was added and UTF-8 encoded XML chunks are correctly recognised.
  • NetCDF: Physical unit support for newer GXSM files was improved.
  • OPD: Integer type checking is more lenient, loading some files which were previously rejected as invalid.
  • HDF5: Mismatched x and y resolutions and physical sizes in Ergo files were corrected. String handling, which causes problems with some HDF5 versions, was improved. Initial support for Shilps Sciences Lucent files was added.
  • MI file: Loading curve maps was implemented and loading of binary single curves fixed to actually work.
  • Nanoscope: Some single force curve files are no longed misdetected as images.
  • Correlation search: A preview of the score image was added.
  • Others:
  • Gwyutils: The multidimensional numpy array creation helpers actually create data with the correct shape now.
  • Dependencies: If nothing else is available, the Zziplib ZIP file handling library can be also used to read ZIP-based file formats.

  • MS Windows: HDF5 was updated to version 1.10.8, fixing import of Ergo files which did not work with HDF 1.8.22.
  • Compilation: Modules are always explicitly linked with libm to ensure the silent implied linking with libmvec occurs when needed.

  • 3D formats: Fixed import of STL files which was reading only some points and some multiple times.
  • Anfatec: Also imports FV matrix data (as curve maps). Metadata are created from the header file.
  • Pixmap, HDR image: Option to simply use the pixel dimensions as the lateral dimensions was added.
  • Wrap value: Option to keep the current data range unchanged was added.
  • Grain correlations: Quantities available for abscissa are updated correctly when it is calculated from a different image.
  • Measure lattice: Masking support was added. Vector numbers can be displayed. The FFT image is refined.
  • Tip model: Can enforce square tip image.
  • Fit Shape: Pressing OK again consistently produces output images, whether they originate from fitting or just setting parameters manually. Most parameters have toolips with descriptions.
  • Perspective correction: Correction can be applied to all compatible images and it can modify the current image (instead of creating a new one).
  • Projective selection: Supports crop and move and can be distributed by the selection manager tool.

  • Particle synthesis: Simulation speed was greatly improved. A random number generation bug was fixed; the same random seed will not generate identical image as in previous versions.
  • Straighten path: Output orientation can now be chosen.
  • Graph modules: No longer executable for empty graphs with no curves, meaning they also do not crash in such case.
  • Graph statistical functions: Windowing used for PSDF computation is now user-controllable.
  • Graph export bitmap: Saves also to JPEG/TIFF/BMP according to image file extension. An error is shown if file saving fails.

  • Compilation: Minizip header inclusion should work also with version 3.x.
  • Compilation: Failure to compile with OpenEXR 3.x was fixed.

  • Profile tool: Angularly averaged (radial) profiles can be extracted now, with possible automated symmetrisation. Data masking is supported.
