- Enhancements in Email Notification Functionality:
- Email backup reporting feature is a crucial and convenient component, especially in intricate data environments and network scenarios. Handy Backup automates tasks, simplifies data integrity monitoring, and mitigates the accumulation of random errors. With the latest version, an additional option has been introduced in task settings, allowing users to precisely configure Email notifications upon task completion.
- In earlier versions, users could configure notifications based on two criteria: “When the operation finishes” or “When the operation succeeds with an error”. The new version introduces a third option, empowering users to opt for notification “When the operation fails”. This update provides heightened flexibility and control in task status notification, ensuring accurate and timely information on the progress of each operation.
- Polish Interface Localization:
- The new version 8.5.1 of Handy Backup features a fully localized interface for Polish-speaking users. Every element of the graphical interface, from button names and functions to various labels and messages, is tailored to the needs of Polish users (with the exception of plugin names, which remain in the original language for compatibility across all Handy Backup localizations).
- This innovation significantly facilitates interaction with our product for users in Poland, allowing them to create and restore backups with ease and efficiency. We aim to provide a convenient and intuitive experience for Handy Backup users worldwide, supporting a variety of languages.
New in Handy Backup Server Network 8.4.7.12 (Jun 21, 2023)
- For your convenience, we optimized the application’s performance and resolved issues of the previous version.
- In particular, we improved the Handy Backup Disaster Recovery tool, since now you can find an instruction on how to create a WinPE bootable disk by just clicking an icon on your application’s toolbar.
- We also optimized the VMWare backup process by fixing execution log errors when using this plugin. Previously, there were issues with machine names, which were displayed in wrong encoding.
- As for FTP backup, we improved the FTP/SFTP/FTPS encryption libraries. Basically, we fixed the FTP plugins, however, the library update indirectly affected all modules that these libraries used (including server’s and client’s activities and interactions). We also fixed data transfer errors between FTP plugin and FTP server. In previous versions of the application some clients had an issue connecting to the SFTP plugin due to the client-server configuration (because corresponding FTP servers did not support older versions of encryption libraries).
- And finally, we improved the mechanism of re-registration of the application. Now after the re-registration process, application restart is not required.
New in Handy Backup Server Network 8.4.5.15 (Mar 14, 2023)
- The new version of Handy Backup has a plugin for VK Cloud backup. The plugin allows faster and more efficient automatic cloud backup on the platform of one of the largest digital services.
- Previously, when working with MySQL, S3 Cloud and MariaDB plugins, if the user entered incorrect credentials in the error dialog notifications, there was no text and empty messages were displayed. Now the messages contain information about the failure.
- Handy Backup specialists corrected the mechanism for encoding errors in the program logs when performing a backup using the Disk Image plugin. In the previous version of the program the logs contained unreadable characters.
- Now with Handy Backup 8.4.5. you can restore data that was encrypted with AES-128 or AES-256 during backup if there is no file with encryption algorithm configuration information - password and encryption type.
- The Centralized Deploy Tool now correctly displays logs in English.

- Starting from Handy Backup 8.2.2, the Windows firewall will set up automatically for 64-bit editions of Handy Backup, as it already realized for 32-bit versions. Now a user can run the program without tuning a firewall for working with Handy Backup during the first start.
