  • We have made many improvements to Helium Streamer as well. Below are the most significant news:
  • Changed MySql/MariaDb database providers for better performance and stability. This is a major change which affects everything that relates to MySql/MariaDb in Helium.

New in Helium Streamer 4.1.1 Build 1372 (Sep 12, 2020)

  • Corrections to transcoding. There were sometimes problems with transcoding flac and other formats for replaying in Helium Streamer for iPhone and Android. These problems are corrected in this release.

  • This release is mainly a maintenance release which includes bug corrections and improvements made to shared code in Helium and Helium Streamer.

New in Helium Streamer 4.0.0 Build 1318 (Apr 11, 2019)

  • Multiple album artists – a unique feature that allows browsing of one or more album artists per release
  • Quick filters in Genre and Year views – No more endless scrolling for that specific track while in the genre or year view. Just type parts of the artist name or track title and the list will be immediately filtered.
  • Small navigation bar – after popular demand, Helium Streamer now has an option to show a small navigation bar just like in Helium. This saves some vital space on smaller screens which will make the browsing eperience even better.
  • More in line with Helium – Helium Streamer now uses more of the common settings from Helium which for eample makes adding of music simpler. It no longer matters if you add music to your library from Helium or from Helium Streamer.
  • Auto calculate BPM setting – If this setting is turned on BPM will be automatically calculated on all played tracks. It it also saved to the tags of the files so it will easy to search, sort and filter tracks on BPM in the future.
  • Many other small improvements – We have been working a lot on performance in Helium Streamer 4 so you should notice a great improvement in speed.

New in Helium Streamer 3.3.2.1266 (Aug 13, 2018)

  • A bug was found in Helium Streamer 3.3.1 which prevented the iOS and Android apps to connect to the application.
  • Version 3.3.2 fixes this issue. We recommend all users to update to this release.

New in Helium Streamer 3.3.1.1236 (Aug 8, 2018)

  • It is now possible to sort releases. You are no longer stuck with the default sort order of album name ascending.
  • You reach this new feature by clicking on the new “more…” link at the top of the releases view.
  • There are four fields that releases can be sorted by:
  • Album
  • Artist
  • Year
  • Added date
  • There is also the possibility to change the sort order (ascending or descending) by clicking the sort order button

New in Helium Streamer 3.3.0.1236 (Dec 8, 2017)

  • As of the latest version of Helium Streamer (3.3, released today) there will be a free version and a Premium version just like for Helium.
  • Helium Streamer comes with a couple of new features in this release. Here are the most important news:
  • User permissions (Premium version only):
  • Helium Streamer now uses the same permission system as Helium does. The permissions set on a user in Helium is used in Helium Streamer and vice versa. Not all permissions makes sense to support in Helium Streamer, but most does. You can edit permissions for a user from the Settings page.
  • Album collection management:
  • It was previously possible to filter for album collections in Helium Streamer but you could only use album collections set from Helium. It is now possible to add and remove collections from an album, as well as create, edit and delete album collections (available from Settings).
  • Multiple thumbnail sizes (Premium version only):
  • It is now possible to switch to medium or small sized thumbnails from Settings. Small thumbnails will be the new default. The free version can only show small thumbnails.
  • New statistics view (Premium version only):
  • The all-new statistics view will let you get a better understanding of your music library. Many of the popular statistics from Helium have now been incorporated into Helium Streamer.

New in Helium Streamer 3.2 RC (Nov 13, 2017)

  • Support for translations:
  • English and Swedish currently available.
  • Light theme:
  • Try out the new light theme by switching to it in Settings.
  • New labels view:
  • This new view closely resembles the one already present in Helium 12. Labels can be filtered by name. Total number of tracks from the label is shown in a bubble on each label.
  • Filter added to genres view:
  • Type something in the new filter box to only show genres that matches the search criteria.
  • Track list can now be sorted in Tracks view:
  • Click on the column headers to sort ascending or descending.
  • Album collections created in Helium will now be loaded and available in the releases view:
  • The possibility to manage album collections as well as adding and removing albums from them will come in a later version.
  • Added experimental support for SSL:
  • This can be tested by adding a “UseSsl” flag (set to true) in the config.json file, under the “Host” entry.

  • Helium Streamer has had a few updates which are listed below:
  • New Folders view.
  • Better sorting (e.g. 2 is now displayed before 10).
  • Support for creating new databases in Launcher.
  • Helium Streamer version is now displayed in Settings.
  • Support for editing, adding and deleting users in Settings.
  • Download tracks is now available on context menus.
  • Better handling when access is denied to tracks.
  • Remaining time can now be displayed in the player by clicking on the elapsed time indicator. Click once again to toggle back to elapsed time.
  • Check for updates has been added in Settings.
  • Lots of minor corrections, enhancements and adjustments.
