  • Added Default Browser to Default Commands, Windows Commands, Internet. Having the URL in the command edit box will launch it in the default browser.
  • Added an execute Delay By time (HH:MM:SS) in the Add or Edit Hotkey window. When a hotkey is pressed, HotKeyz will wait for the Delay By time specified before executing the command. The default is 00:00:00 (no delay).
  • Added an active desktop window command to kill the process of the active desktop window.
  • Added 9 Desktop Positions. With a hotkey you can position the desktop window to the following screen areas: Bottom Left, Bottom, Bottom Right, Left, Full Screen, Right, Top Left, Top, Top Right. These positions correspond to the numeric keypad 1-9. So it is best to use them with a combination of modifier keys and the numeric keys on the right of your keyboard.

  • Fixed memory leak.
  • Fixed access violation on exit.
  • Added an active window command to minimize all other windows except the active one (top most). Specify additional window titles not to be minimized.
  • When launching an external command i.e. an exe file like notepad.exe, two options are now available on the Options Tab: start as a new instance or open the previous instance. This is handy when you only want one instance of an application to be launched when pressing a hotkey.
  • When deleting a macro play command, a confirmation dialog will be displayed asking if you want to delete the macro file as well.
  • Fixed "List index out of bounds (10)" error when duplicating a command in the Multiple Command editor.
  • The Multi or Pick List commands will not be visible for Multiple or Pick List Commands as you cannot have a multiple command within a multiple command.
  • When you create a new hotkey and have selected a Category, the category will remain as is when you select a command. But if you select the command first the category will change to the built-in category.
  • When creating a new macro the Playback Fast will be checked by default.
  • Fixed macro path error.
  • Fixed macro playback tray icon. Will now change to blue to indicate macro playback.
  • Added Google Chrome to Internet defaults.

  • Fixed Macro Loop.
  • Integrated a new macro recording component that creates *.mac files that can be edited. Added an edit button next to the file open button when selecting a macro in the macro play options. Re-select the command from the default commands or change the macro command from "Macro Record" to "Macro Record Edit" in order to record to the *.mac file.
  • New Macro playback have 2 new options: Play back the macro at Normal or Fast speed.
  • New Macro recording have 2 new options: Record the mouse movements and mouse relative to.
  • Added an Autosave option under Settings. If checked this will save the 'last used' and 'times used' and unsaved Hotkeys every 5 minutes.
  • Auotsave will not save if the Hotkey Add or Edit window is open.
  • Added a setting to Hide HotKeyz when executing a hotkey. If unchecked HotKeyz will stay open when executing a hotkey.
  • Added a setting to show all hotkeys in the tray (when you right click on the HotKeyz tray icon).
  • When using the Date Mask with the Paste command, 'Mon' can be used for first 3 letters of Month i.e. [DATE_D MON CCYY] will result in 15 AUG 2009
  • Added a pre user name behaviour on the hotkey login window. This allows you to TAB once or multiple times into the username field when the login hotkey is pressed. On some login web sites you either have to click in the username field then press the login hotkey, but if you know how many tabs it will take you to get focus in the username edit box then the pre user name behaviour will do that for you.

New in HotKeyz 2.7.6.0 (Aug 15, 2009)

  • Minor bug fixes.
  • Auto Correct. This hotkey allows faulty text or pre-assigned acronyms to be completed while typing. i.e. if you type fuatly then HotKeyz will automatically correct it to faulty. Or if you have an acronym mk and press the space bar it will automatically type out Magnus Kruger.
  • Added LButton, MButton and RButton to work with the remap command. This will click the left, middle or right mouse buttons.
  • Added a button to duplicate an existing multi command.
  • If you right click on the edit box you will be able to select 'None' from the popup menu. Choose a 'None' hotkey to create multiple commands with no specific hotkey.

New in HotKeyz 2.7.5.0 (Jul 31, 2009)

  • Enable or disable Multiple Commands. This is handy if you want to keep commands in your multiple command list or command pick list but temporarily want switch them off so that they wont get launched.
  • Specify the window title of the program that you want to kill / terminate in the parameter part. i.e. "Notepad".
  • Specify the application name that you want to kill / terminate in the parameter part. i.e. "notepad.exe".
  • After recording a macro there you can choose an existing macro name from a dropdown list. Or simply type in the new macro name.
  • When closing HotKeyz it will un-hide all hidden windows.
  • Removed StartIn & Window State columns from main list view.
  • Removed all columns from Multi Command view except Description, Command & Parameter.
  • The Show HotKeyz command will toggle between show and hide. So the same hotkey that shows HotKeyz can now be used to hide HotKeyz.
  • Added the ! character to password field when completing passwords.
  • Added a "Last Used" and "Times Used" columns to provide information on when last you have used a hotkey and how many times it has been used.
  • If the Startup parameter is specified with launching HotKeyz, i.e. ("C:Program FilesSkynergyHotKeyzHotKeyz.exe" Startup), it will now start without showing the Main Form for a split second.
  • Added special keyboard keys for the remap.
  • Include and Exclude window text if false will send the keys to OS.
  • Fixed commands being unchecked when moving multiple commands up and down.

  • HotKeyz will now support all the special keyboard keys like Mute, Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down, Stop etc. Use these keys like any other key on your keyboard alone or with one or more modifier keys. i.e. like Control+Shirt+Mute assigned to a new or existing command.
  • Added a command to swap the mouse buttons.
  • Unhide pick list won't be shown if there are no items.
  • PickList window will be closed if the popup menu is closed or de-activated.
  • Login pick list. Select the program from a login list and the username and password will be filled in after selecting the program or website. This makes it a bit easier to login to programs or websites than to launch the program and pressing the login hotkey. Sometimes a person is already at the program or website so all you need is a the list of programs to select the login username & password from.

  • Added an Unhide Pick List command for the Desktop Window default command. So if you have hidden desktop windows yuo can now pick one from a list to unhide.

  • Add setting to save settings and hotkey files to: 1. Application Data folder (VISTA), 2. Same folder as HotKeyz.exe (for portable on USB sticks or XP)
  • Changed the count down timer option. If the Stay On Top is not checked then the count down window will not show, it will count down in the back ground.
  • Fixed monitor off command to work on Vista.
