New in InTiles Kiosk Software 4.51 (Apr 12, 2019)

  • The main change from 4.4 and 4.5 is the way the Machine ID is computed. This will hopefully prevent the Machine ID from changing.
  • Two versions are needed because there is an issue with the onscreen keyboard closing on touchscreen kiosks with the latest Chrome engine. For non touchscreen kiosks you should use 4.51

New in InTiles Kiosk Software 3.0.0.14035 (Apr 1, 2016)

  • Upgraded the Chrome engine – this brings many improvements such as better touchscreen support. If you are currently using the IE engine, I recommend you give the Chrome engine an other chance. Chrome is now the default engine when first running InTiles.
  • It is now possible to set the default zoom to a value other than 100% (General tab).
  • The way the cache and the cookies are deleted when using the Chrome engine was improved. Clear cache and Clear cookies (Sessions tab) had to be combined into one one setting.
  • It is now possible to disable the suppression of script errors and dialogs (Restrictions tab, IE engine only).
  • It is now possible to allow the use of the Alt key (Restrictions tab) needed with some languages.
  • The new Chrome engine uses the PPAPI version of Flash

New in InTiles Kiosk Software 2.3.0.35669 (Feb 20, 2016)

  • When using Website restrictions, only the main frame of a web page is now checked. Otherwise, URLs such as www.google-analytics.com can cause blocked page messages to be displayed. This change only affects the Chrome engine as this is not a problem with the IE engine.

New in InTiles Kiosk Software 2.2.0.31155 (Jan 11, 2016)

  • When using the Chrome engine, HTML5 Camera and Mic request are now accepted automatically unless specified otherwise in the settings (Restrictions tab).

New in InTiles Kiosk Software 2.1.0.27833 (Aug 3, 2015)

  • Number of documents completed events should be set to 1 in most cases. It simply means that when InTiles is resetting and loading the initial page, only one “Document complete event” is necessary to know that the reset proces is over. Some web sites may trigger more than one Document completed events and the second one usually starts an unwanted session after each reset.

New in InTiles Kiosk Software 2.0.1.37691 (Mar 30, 2015)

  • You now have the choice between two browser engines, Internet Explorer (IE) and Chrome.
  • When using a touchscreen, the onscreen keyboard will now appear automatically whenever the user taps on a text field (just like a tablet or a smart phone).
  • Buttons located on the panels around the browser no longer have a pre-established function.
  • Any of the 40 custom buttons can now be configured for any of the following functions:
  • Quit user session, Show keyboard, Hide keyboard, Display language.
  • Act as a browser button: Go back, Go forward, Zoom in, Zoom out, Print, Reload, or Stop loading.
  • Not react to mouse input, therefore used to display their content only, including as a timer.
  • Although the browser panel still has the pre-defined toolbar buttons (Go Back, Go forward, etc…), any of the 40 custom buttons can now be assigned that role.
  • Custom buttons can still use the Global font settings and text alignment, but those values can now be set for each button individually.
  • InTiles can now be set to wait for an Internet connection before attempting to load the initial web page. This solves the problem of not having a connection ready on time when rebooting.
  • The settings in non-kiosk mode and in kiosk mode are now the same which eliminates the need to export/import.
  • The URL field (or address bar) on the browser panel can now be used to enter a Google search.
  • A more detailed log file is now created daily and kept for 60 days. It can be viewed right from the Settings window under the Log tab.
