  • It is now possible to transfer entries between Builders. Right-click the Builder entry list and choose ‘Copy’ from the context pop-up menu. Paste copied entries using this same menu. Also, quickly add new Builder entries copied from Checklists, Storyboards, Sequences, etc. Copy your Builder entry list into a Checklist or Mindmap for printing.
  • It is now possible to quickly combine entries from multiple Builder windows. Choose ‘Consolidate’ from the Builder’s ‘File’ menu. Entries from the selected Builders will be added to the current list. Please note, unlike Backup consolidation, existing Builder documents are not deleted or changed upon consolidation.
  • Multi-level undo and redo has been added to nearly all Liquid Story Binder XE file types.
  • Chapter Backup support has been added to the Builder file type. A new version entry is added to the Backup file for each Builder entry changed. Unlike Chapters, there are no ‘Session’, ‘Previous Save’, or ‘Negative Option’ backups created with Builders, nor is the entire Builder file preserved. Quickly create backups based on the text selection or current Builder entry using the Builder ‘File’ menu. View backed-up Builder entries by choosing ‘Backups’ from the Builder ‘File’ menu. Enable automatic Builder entry backups using the ‘Preferences’ dialog, choosing the ‘Enable Automatic Builder Entry Backups’ option from the ‘Backups’ section.
  • It is now possible to open documents in file mode by double-clicking any portion of a Sequence or Storyboard card -- not just the title.
  • ‘One-Click File Open’ preference compatibility has been added to the various sorting types (Sequences, Storyboards, Mindmaps).
  • It is now possible to use a Planner in ‘Workspace Mode’ allowing users to create and sort Workspaces. Create Chapter-based Workspaces that can be accessed quickly using a Planner, automatically opening many documents simultaneously.

  • The Outline file type has been completely re-written.
  • Liquid Story Binder has always contained a basic Outline type, allowing writers to plot ideas using a collapsible tree of items. Since the early legacy days, this file type has had its limitations. Item selection and movement was always problematic. The different viewing modes complicated, lacking in user-friendliness. Version 4.11 solves these problems.
  • Outlines now support item word wrap, multi-item selection, limitless indenting, full screen mode editing, item sorting, text and bitmap export.
  • Users can now specify item width. This allows for text to be wrapped. Each item varying in height, based upon the length of text entered.
  • Unlike the old Outline type, indents are no longer limited by the level of surrounding items.
  • A range of items can now be selected simply by dragging the mouse.
  • Items can be moved in groups. Collapsed items move simultaneously with their parents.
  • Separate groups of items visually using blank items. Blank items are not boxed, blending in with the background.
  • Use the ‘Preferences’ dialog to select your preferred indent size and item width.
  • Concerning Other Changes...
  • Outlines, Dossiers, and Checklists now support plain text export.
  • Library Book deletion has been improved.

  • The Liquid Story Binder ‘Typewriter’ is the ultimate tool for distraction-free writing. Users are not allowed to edit existing text, change formatting, scroll, delete, or even use the backspace key. The Typewriter forces you to write, to move forward, to add new words, completely free of the temptation to revise.
  • To begin, open the Chapter, Builder, or Journal you wish to work on. Position the cursor at the spot where you wish to add new text. Choose ‘Typewriter’ from the Chapter, Builder, or Journal ‘Tools’ menu.
  • The Typewriter always opens in Full Screen mode.
  • The current working line is always positioned in the center of the screen.
  • The contents of the Typewriter are added automatically to the opened Chapter, Builder, or Journal.
  • To close the Typewriter tool simply press the 'ESC' key or right-click to open the pop-up menu.
  • See the ‘Full Screen’ tool on how to determine left and right margins.
  • Like the ‘Universal Search’, the ‘Universal Replace’ tool now displays document search findings.
  • Version word count changes are now displayed instantaneously in the Chapter Statusbar as you write.
  • Full Screen margins are no longer determined by the size of current document window. Instead, users can now choose their preferred left and right Full Screen margins using the 'Preferences' dialog. Margins are based on percentages of the actual screen size.
