New in MathGV 3.1 (Aug 9, 2007)

  • Bug Fix
  • Version 3.1 contains a fix for a minor bug that was in version 3. This bug affects negative number to fractional power calculations like "(-8)^(2/3)". This example evaluates to "-4" but the correct answer is "4". This bug only appears if the numerator is even (2) and the denominator is odd (3) and the base number (-8) is negative.
  • Improved Calculation Accuracy
  • Version 3.1 can produce an exact fractional result for numbers with larger numerators or denominators. In version 3.1; Fractions where the numerator or denominator is bigger than 1.5 trillion can cause rounding. The old limit was 10 billion.
  • Larger program file will not fit on a floppy disk
  • Version 3.1 has grown to 1.5 megabytes and will no longer run from a 1.4 megabyte floppy disk.
