  • Tab Bar Allows Quick Navigation between Multiple Open Memos:
  • If required information was spread over several memos, you had to switch back and forth in the past. Now, the tab bar of MemoMaster 4 allows Memos to be "anchored". Further, the user can switch back and forth conveniently at any time.
  • Sidebar for More Detail:
  • "Memo Details" is a new feature allowing the user to display a sidebar, where folder keywords, brief descriptions, or comments may be added.
  • The Description allows the assignment of information to the Memo, which is not included in the Memo itself.
  • Multiple Keywords can be created and be assigned to individual Memos and/or folders. A search can filter these keywords.
  • Comments can be used conveniently in multi-user environments, e.g. by certain employees of a department or even the whole company. This feature allows adding information, review, or simple notes to Memos. It promotes effective team communication.
  • Microsoft Word Compatible Styles:
  • Styles can be created that are Microsoft Word compatible, as the text messages are. Single style sheets, headings and lists are defined fast and easy.
  • Microsoft Word Compatible Headers and Footers:
  • Text Memos can support headers and footers now. The "first page", for example, can be determined as you know from word processing. Headers and footers are compatible with Microsoft Word.
  • Simplified mapping of Tags:
  • Multiple tags can simultaneously be selected from a variety of predefined tag icons and assigned to their own Memos. The user can also filter according to the tags.
  • Sharper Resized Images:
  • The image quality and display was increased significantly. MemoMaster 4 is equipped with filters to scale images. This results in more professional appearing images, when e.g. inserting a high resolution logo of a company.
  • The memory consumption has been adjusted significantly as well. Images only effect the memory when they get displayed in the Memo. This improves the memory usage and the performance of loading or importing documents for example.
  • Tree Elements Allow Certain Characters:
  • Windows characters/symbols, such as “:” or “/”, are allowed for titles of elements now.
  • They are substituted by characters allowed by Windows File System during export.
  • Faster Search through Fast Alternating Match List:
  • Just one click allows you to alternate directly from text search to the Match list, which enables you to view sources of
  • information a lot faster.
  • Code Memos as batch Import:
  • The Import Assistant supports source code files. Therefore, several source code files may be imported at the same time.
  • MemoMaster supports all common programming languages.
  • Optimized Search Assistant:
  • The Search Assistant allows more optional filters for a more effective search of Memos. You may also search for creation date and modification date as well as keywords, i.e descriptions, comments, comments of files or attachments--in addition to the current search function filtering AND/OR/NOT.
  • Enhanced Open Dialog - Attachment of Frequently Used Memo-Databases
  • Databases that are used frequently may be anchored in the selection of the databases that were previously accessed. They will still be accessible, even if they hadn’t been used for a while. Therefore, databases are accessible as quickly as possible.
  • Convert Text to Table:
  • Selected text can be transmitted in a table immediately. Formatting will be applied accordingly.
  • Surveillance of Multiple Memo Editing in Real-Time:
  • If multiple colleagues are working on the same project - Memo - at the same time, this process can be handled much more efficiently: Changes can be viewed and executed simultaneously.
  • Enhanced Group Member Information and Inheritance of Access and Editing Rights:
  • The User Rights Management was enhanced largely, e.g. the permission of rights and user definition were optimized. Rights for whole folder structures may be inherited. Enhanced group membership information allows a broader overview.
  • Reading Access for Single Users or Departments:
  • The Professional Edition allows certain user rights, e.g. the reading of several parts of a Memo database or the whole database, for single users or departments. This feature only allows Memos to be read, no changes can be made.

New in MemoMaster 3.5.7 (Mar 5, 2010)

  • New Memo Type: "Code-Memo":
  • MemoMaster offers "Code Memos" now. This Memo type is specifically aligned for the support of programmers, and for the storage and administration of so called codesnipes. Code Memos support source text highlighting, methods and character lists as well as line numbering.
  • New Cell Format for Calculation Memos:
  • The new cell format "Static" allows to secure calculation cells concerning overwriting by mistake. It is ideal to overwrite description cells in data entry forms.
  • Password Protection of Individual Memo Elements:
  • Apart from the already existing password protection of Memo databases, individual Memos can now be protected with a password against unauthorized access.
  • Expanded Permissions Managament for Memo Elements:
  • The permissions management was largely expanded for the Professional-Edition. User accounts are created and permissions are assigned for the creation and deletion of Memo databases in the existing user and permissions administration. The function to be able to assign user and group permissions for individual elements in the tree as well as individual Memos or whole folders has recently been added.
  • This feature allows you to select who will be able to read, edit or delete an element. Further, it can be selected who will be able to print, export, may change the permissions or use Drag & Drop. This allows e.g. individual users or whole teams to either have a reading permission or the permission to use Drag & Drop or be blocked to delete items.
  • New Memo Link Wizard:
  • The new Memo Link Wizard makes it easier to link Memo elements. The wizard offers support when creating internal links.
  • New Export Wizard with Reporting and Structure Export:
  • The new Export Wizard allows the export of several Memos to different formats at the same time; so that all exported Memos are saved in individual documents of different file formats.
  • You may select the output format for Text, Calculation or Code Memos in the Export Wizard. All selected Text Memos for the export can be exported to the output format Microsoft Word, Calculation Memos in a Excel Spreadsheet or Code Memos in an ANSI Source Code file.
  • With the support of the Export Wizard Text Memos can be exported as reports, i.e. saved together in one document. Hereby the automatic page change is optional now.
  • Titles for New Elements Can Be Defined:
  • If a new Memo is created, it is standardized to e.g. the name a new folder "New Folder". You can now choose an own, individual (also variable) title via program settings.
  • Recycle Bin Function:
  • It can happen that a Memo gets deleted by mistake. In order to retrieve data, a recycle bin will be available from now on. It can be adjusted via program settings whether deleted elements shall immediately be deleted or shall be placed in the recycle bin first.
  • Expiration Date for Memos:
  • It may happen that thoughts, ideas or small calculations get stored in a Memo that is only important for a certain amount of time. For this reason a Memo can now be assigned with an expiration date. The Memo will automatically be deleted on the expiration date. This allows you to keep stored what is really important.
  • Timestamp:
  • The timestamp function allows you to insert the day with date, time and user name together at the end of a page or at the end of a Memo respectively.
  • Remember Memo Elements for Next Work Session:
  • MemoMaster is now able to remember a certain element which will open directly during startup.
  • Support for Unicode Format:
  • Unicode can be activated as document storage format in Version 3. Unicode is an international standard, in which a digital code gets assigned for each meaningful character or text elements in the long run.
  • Full Text Indexing for File Archive:
  • If desired, archived documents will now also be full text indexed when checking in to the Professional-Edition. The Memo search will therefore also consider this content. The formats MS-Word, MS-Excel, Acrobat PDF, HTML and Text are supported.
  • Expanded and Optimized E-Mail Archive:
  • The performance of the e-mail archive for Microsoft Outlook was increased. Additionally, the address of the addressee and sender will be extracted of a particular e-mail and placed in the header of each archived e-mail.
  • Additional New Features:
  • The limit of being able to open 4 Memo databases at the same time only won't exist any more.
  • Also, you are able to surpress the automatic page change after every Memo during the data export and printing output.
  • Additionally, two further themes were created which allow you to change the layout of the program - if desired.
