  • Want to have an overview of all your tasks? Introducing the All smart list, one of your top requested features. You’ll now see all your tasks grouped by list.
  • We didn’t just stop at the All smart list, we now also have the Completed smart list so you can also see all the tasks you’ve checked off. Enable both in settings.
  • If you weren’t a fan of your completed tasks mixing with the uncompleted ones, then you’ll be glad to hear that we’ve moved your completed tasks to the bottom. Now you have easy access to the completed tasks without them getting in the way of your productivity.
  • Did you notice that if you right-clicked on a task we would suddenly scroll you up to the top of the list? That wasn’t a new feature, just a bug. We’ve fixed it now.
  • You might have noticed that new tasks didn’t respect your top of the list settings in the Tasks list when you added them from a different smart list. They’ll now pay a bit more attention to your settings.
  • We made some accessibility announcement improvements on the last updated status in notes.

  • We bring you the following enhancements and bug fixes in this release:
  • Now that new tasks are added to top, we’re adding tasks moved between lists to the top of the list, too. If you’ve enabled Add New Tasks on Top, and move a task into another list, the task will appear at the top, if not, at the bottom.
  • If details like due date, reminder or recurrence were removed from your tasks when you edited the name, we apologize. That’s now fixed.

  • We fixed an issue that could cause the app to crash as soon as you opened it on some devices.

  • Completed or deleted a task and then noticed it pop up in the action center? We like to remind you about tasks, but this reminder didn’t seem very helpful, so we’ve fixed that issue now.

  • Want to delegate like a pro? Introducing assignments – share a list of all those tasks you want to get off your plate and start assigning them to your colleagues, friends, family, neighbors... you get the idea. Tap on the detail view of a task in a shared list to see the option to assign it to someone who is in that list.
  • We made a number of accessibility improvements, including adding support for large text in header buttons and improving search readout.
  • If you were making changes to your custom recurring tasks, then changed your mind and clicked Cancel you might have noticed that it reset the recurrence. We fixed that bug.
  • The cursor has been playing hide and seek with you in your notes. If you looked away to a different app and came back it would have moved within the note to keep you on your toes. We’ve told it to buckle down and stay in one place now.

  • Faster than greased lightning, faster than a cheetah, faster than... a very fast thing—that’s our app after this update. We worked hard on improving the overall performance of the app.
  • Did you know that you can duplicate a list? Right-click on the list name and you’ll see the option to duplicate it. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, you’ll be pleased to know that we fixed a bug that stopped sync when you duplicated a list with a long name.
  • Apparently, our app wasn’t playing nicely with certain time zones. We fixed an issue that messed with due dates in those time zones.
  • We fixed a crash that happened if you tried to reorder your lists.

  • Have you tried out our ink gestures yet? If so, you might have noticed that we didn’t ask twice if you wanted to delete a to-do when you scratched it out. Now we’ll ask if you’re sure, if you’re really, really sure.
  • Do you have too many overdue tasks that you just don’t want to deal with today? We’ve improved our accessibility so that collapsing and expanding the different groups in the smart lists are now accessible.
  • We briefly took away the ability to move a task into any list while in search. We’re gifting that ability back to you.
  • We were doing funny things with your list order when you tried to reorder multiple tasks. We’ve fixed that bug now.

  • We’ve improved the color when you select an item in high contrast accessibility mode.

  • You might have noticed that the timestamp on your notes wasn’t always completely accurate. We were having some trouble applying your timezone correctly. That’s now fixed and your note’s timestamp should reflect your exact timezone.
  • We like to help you establish daily habits, though we may have been a little too insistent that your tasks repeat. If you had trouble removing the recurrence from a to-do, we’re sorry. We’ve fixed that glitch so you can add or remove recurrence as you see fit.
  • We’re continuing to improve performance and reliability with better offline support and sync all while reducing memory consumption.

  • Improved: It's now easier to edit your list names straight from the sidebar. Right-click on the title on desktop or long-press on mobile and you'll be able to automatically change your list name.
  • Improved: Liked completing or deleting your to-dos straight from Suggestions? Look to the right of your to-do in Suggestions and you'll see "…". Click on it and you'll find a whole bunch of options to suit your needs.
  • Improved: It's not just Suggestions that we've improved. Take a look at your list header and you'll see that your title looks a lot better and now adjusts nicely to desktop and mobile. And you'll now only see the emoji picker in edit mode so it doesn't take up too much room if you'd rather keep your list titles plain and simple.
  • Improved: We noticed that the tooltips were just getting in the way of you discovering the app. We've removed these and are taking a look at better ways to introduce Microsoft To-Do to you.
  • Fixed: Was My Day not wiping clean for you each morning? We've fixed that so you can start afresh every day.
  • Fixed: If you are having issues logging in we'll give you a few more details now. Don't forget you can always contact our support for help!
  • Fixed: We were sometimes sending you reminders even though you'd deleted the list that to-do was in. Which, we can all agree, is a little annoying. We've put a stop to that habit.
  • Fixed: We've made a number of other smaller UI improvements and fixed a crash that was happening when you deleted a to-do.

  • Improved: We've improved our Suggestions experience. It loads faster and now it wishes you a good morning or a good evening... it's the little things.
  • Improved: We've simplified the Suggestions view to make it easier for you to add to-dos to My Day without accidentally ticking them off.
  • Improved: We've given our icons a little bit of an overhaul and made them a little bolder.
  • Improved: We've improved our error messages so that you have a few more details about what exactly went wrong.
  • Fixed: If you changed a due date on a recurring to-do we had a pesky little bug that meant the to-do stopped recurring. We put a stop to that.
  • Fixed: If you use Ł in your everyday typing you may have noticed that our shortcuts were messing with your keyboard settings. We've disabled Alt Gr as a shortcut button now.

  • Fixed: You may have noticed that we sometimes gave you a few too many options at login. We've deleted a few of the duplicates to make it a little easier for you.
  • Fixed: Were some of our dialogs getting cut o----? Yeah, we fixed that issue which left you guessing what the remaining words might be.
  • Fixed: Talking of dialogs, we've now disabled hotkeys when we show you those dialogs.
  • Fixed: We hate to see you go but we don't like to be too needy, so we fixed the crash when you tried to log out of the app.
  • Fixed: We know Friday is almost the weekend and it can be tempting to kick back and relax a little. We shouldn't be encouraging this, however, so we fixed the issue that caused weekly recurring to-dos set for Wednesday or Friday to not show up correctly.
  • Fixed: Our notes were sometimes misbehaving—showing buttons where no button should be. We put a stop to that.
  • Fixed: If you crossed a number of timezones then you might have noticed that the color of your Today and Overdue icons changed with the timezone. Sounds cool, but it wasn't planned, so we made it one color across all the timezones.
  • Fixed: If you're sorting your to-dos by due date or alphabetically then you'll notice that we've now disabled drag and drop within sort. Want to move your to-dos? Just click out of that sort option.
  • Improved: We've improved the look of our buttons when they're disabled—it's the little things.

  • New: We’ve added an Emoji picker so it’s even easier to emojify your lists! Just tap the smiley face to the left of the list name field to pick the perfect emoji icon.
  • Improvement: Once you’ve added your favorite emoji, you can also duplicate your most-used lists. Just right click and select Duplicate list from the context menu.
  • Fixed: Using the same email for both your personal Microsoft account and your Work account? You may have spotted that our app sometimes got confused. We've fixed that glitch now and you should be able to sign-in as normal.

  • Improved: We know, we know... our tile was looking a little out of place for a while. We like to stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons, but we also know when we should fit in. So, we've changed to a transparent tile and also shortened our name for easier reading.
  • Improved: We're constantly improving accessibility and we've made a ton of fixes in this update. 
  • Improved: If you're on Creator's update or newer you'll now see a line through the to-dos you've ticked off, just to up those satisfaction levels.
  • Fixed: You can now use the Menu key on your keyboard to easily bring up the context menu for your to-dos. 
  • Fixed: "Where have all my tasks gone?!?" is a sentence that turns up in our worst nightmares. So, the bug that caused your tasks to look like they had disappeared, put us into a cold sweat. The good news is that we've fixed it now, and we'll all sleep better for it.
  • Fixed: If you were editing your to-do using the Pinyin keyboard you may have noticed that your edits weren't saving. We've fixed that issue now.
  • Fixed: Changing due dates on a recurring to-do was causing you a few headaches. We've fixed it now so it should work exactly as it's supposed to.
  • Fixed: We've added a missing tool tip that should have shown up in the list options. We've put it back in to help you get to grips with the app.

  • Fixed: We exorcised the ghosts of deleted lists in this update—they will no longer come back to haunt you by momentarily reappearing in your list view once you've deleted them.
  • Fixed: You may have noticed that your 'Completed at' and 'Created at' times were a little off. Alas, there were no helpful elves ticking off and creating to-dos in the middle of the night. We've fixed the times now so they should correctly show when you ticked off your to-dos.
  • Improved: We've made it easier for you to add to-dos as soon as you open the app. Now you'll see the cursor ready and waiting for you to add your most important tasks for the day.
  • Improved: If you're accessing To-Do using a Microsoft Work account then you now have your very own dedicated privacy policy link.

  • Some of you were seeing the app crash when it was started, or when a list was selected. After a couple of tweaks here and there, this shouldn't be a problem anymore.
  • For those of you using To-Do with your work accounts, we've also fixed some of the permission issues that were showing. With this update, you should be able to sign in without any hassle.

  • Fixed: Did your dates keep changing by one day each time you set them? Yeah, that wasn't your clumsy clicking, it was a pesky bug affecting people in non-UTC timezones. We've squashed it now.
  • Fixed: We weren't trying to put undue stress on you by changing your today's to-dos to due yesterday. Now if you set a date for today via the context menu it really will show up as today. So… have you done it yet?
  • Fixed: Talking of undue stress, we've changed the "due today" label back to a calming blue instead of the red they were showing up as on your to-dos and in the detail view.
