What's new in Windows Media Player 11.2305.4.0

Jul 11, 2023
  • We designed the new Media Player to make listening to and watching your multimedia content more enjoyable on Windows 11, and were really excited to introduce it to all of you! Media Player beautifully showcases your local music and video collections and compliments the new look and feel of Windows 11.
  • Media Player replaces Groove Music. Your music library and playlists are still here, along with a host of new features:
  • Media Player now includes full support for browsing, managing, and watching your local video collection! All the videos in your Video library on your PC will appear automatically; you can also tell Media Player where to look for additional videos in app settings.
  • The dedicated playback view features album art and rich artist imagery; these will appear in the full screen and mini player experiences as well.
  • Media Player is optimized for accessibility, with improved keyboard shortcut and access key support, and support for other assistive technologies.
  • Support for dragging and dropping files on to the app. Drag files on to Now playing or Home to play them; drag on to the Play queue to add them to the queue.
  • When you try to play a file that requires an additional codec from the Microsoft Store, well help install it for you.
  • Adjust the playback speed of your audio and video files. • Adjust how your music and videos sound with a 9-band equalizer. Personalize your app with app theme and accent color settings.
