MusicWonk Changelog

What's new in MusicWonk 4.4 Build 1740

Jul 14, 2016
  • There are many small improvements and bug fixes as is usual for a version update, but the big difference with this version is the user interface and documentation have been upgraded considerably:
  • Patch loading is now graphical: When a patch is saved, a screen shot is automatically saved too, so when you load ("Open...") a patch you see the patch image icons. Click on the .JPG icon and the .AWP patch file opens. You can select whether to view the .JPG images, the .AWP files as before, or both. You can also turn it off so it's as before, in Options/Manage PatchPics.
  • Simple Archiving, where the current patch is saved to an Archive folder. The first time a file is copied, it keeps the original name. Subsequent copies will have numbers appended, as filename-01, filename-02, etc. So you can use this as a straight up archive folder or you can use it for intermediate saves of patch files as you develop them.
  • Documentation now includes screenshot images as part of the module Help. Macros and Functions are documented with screenshots of both the module and its Panel graphics.
  • Patch Help button shows up on the top Taskbar if there is a Help file for the loaded patch. You can create documentation for your patches with Word or an .HTML editor. Just give the doc file the same name as your patch and save it with the “.htm” extension in the same folder as the patch.
  • Automatic Backup of files that would otherwise be overwritten. And the option to turn it off.
  • Easy and safe patch clean up with a Delete menu command that moves the patch and its associated files to a Junk folder, where it is out of the way but not really lost.
  • Works better with Ultrabooks and x86 tablets like Surface Pro 3 due to color contrast and autosize adjustments.
