  • The new geographical features below are based on the countries / regions / states / cantons / cities / towns, described by polygons. For obvious reasons of performance, these polygons are an approximation of the geographic areas they define. Thus tests inclusion caches within these polygons may differ slightly from reality and the results presented by MGM are indicative.
  • For reasons of performance even more obvious, these polygons are much simplified in GeoFrance (a smartphone does not have the power of a PC). You will see that the representation of areas can sometimes be a little rough. Nevertheless, the identification of areas "found" is based on the calculations made by MGM on the most resolute polygons.

A free key comes with MGM and is limited to 2000000 translated characters per month and is sharezd between all MGM users. Of course you can always replace it with your own key.

  • If you don’t already have a Windows Live ID then you will be asked to create one. Otherwise, you can just log in and follow a simple UI flow to get access to the data service. Having the free subscription follow the same process as the paid variants is great because it makes scaling up simple. You just come back to the same UI and select a different option, and everything else just works.

This is also useful when creating an itinerary since these bookmarks will be available as start, end and waypoints. Classic use case for that: you define your workplace and you can easily filter caches that are near your work and create an itinerary starting from your work :-).

  • "Display on Google Maps" : Cluster icons used when dezooming on the map and many caches are located in the same area. This is a configuration option, activated by default: "Configuration" -> "Google Maps" -> "Display cluster of caches".

This one can be moved, resized and its radius can also be changed by double-clicking on the radius label. To quickly move the circle somewhere else, just left-click on another place.
