Important changes:
The operating environment is now Windows 10, Windows 11, and 64bit OS only. Packages for Windows7, WIndows8.1 and 32bit OS are not provided after version 40.0.
It is running on .NET8. This framework is included as part of the app. No separate installation is required.
For environments where .NET8 is already installed, we have prepared a package "NeeView40-fd.zip" that does not include .NET8.
Since the file structure has changed significantly, it is not possible to overwrite the ZIP version. Please use export/import to migrate your data. The installer version can be updated as is.
User data storage location:
The user data storage location of the ZIP version is summarized in the Profile folder.
You can specify the default storage location for user data with the environment variable NEEVIEW_PROFILE.
New page display process:
The page display process has been reworked to match the implementation of panoramic mode. We have tried to match the previous behavior as much as possible, but the behavior when changing scale or rotation may have changed.
Added "Panorama" mode to connect and display pages.
It is now possible to switch between vertical and horizontal page connection directions.
Scroll time settings for various scroll commands have been combined into one. (Settings > Image operations > Scroll time)
Added the ability to switch pages using scroll animation. (Settings > Image operations > Page movement time)
Main view window:
The main view window now functions in a new display mode, rather than just being a window.
Assigned F12 shortcut to main view window switching command.
Added setting to display page list in main area when main view window is displayed. (Settings > Main View)
Main view window auto-hide setting added. (Settings > Main View)
Changed the behavior of the close button of the main view window to minimize it.
The main view window now minimizes when you press the ESC key.
Added "Auto window size adjustment" to the main view window. (Main View Window > Title Bar Context Menu)
Added setting to shift focus to main view when page is selected in page list. (Page list panel > Details menu)
Enhanced search functionality:
Added search box to various panels.
Added search option. You can now search by tags included in bookmarks and images. See Search Options Help for more information.
Added individual deletion button for search history.
Added search history size setting. (Settings > General)
Enhanced video playback function:
Added settings to use libVLC (VLC media player) for video playback. (Settings > Video)
Added setting to display videos as pages. (Settings > Video)
Added a control bar to the Navigator panel to control videos displayed as pages. (Navigator panel > Advanced menu)
AnimatedImage is now used to play GIF animations.
Supports PNG animation playback.
Base scale:
Added base scale change command and mouse drag operation.
The base scale value is now saved in book units.
Automatic rotation:
Added forced left rotation and forced right rotation to automatic rotation.
Automatic rotation settings are now saved for each book.

Changed the correction process for window maximization. Abolished window frame width setting when maximizing.

Panels can be connected horizontally. The second and subsequent connections will only connect in the current direction.
The date and time format of the panel was made culture dependent. This format is configurable. (Settings > General)
Mouse commands can now be accepted on panels, etc. if possible.
Made the natural order closer to the Explorer order.
Additional text embedded in PNG can now be displayed in the additional information group of the information panel.
The history is now automatically saved.
History list The history update date and time is now displayed in the content display.
Implemented file renaming in page list.
Supports deletion of files in ZIP. To make it work, enable ZIP file editing in settings.

Script: Introduces a level of compatibility. Changes that do not affect operation, such as changing parameter names, are now only notified on the console.
Script: added nv.Playlist.Name. You can change the name of the current playlist by assigning it.

Start-up speed: Start-up is faster than previous versions including the ZIP version.

Fixed a bug that could fail to rename compressed files.
