  • Bugfix: Resolved error "The specified network name is no longer available".

  • Finally implemented a workaround for .Net defect where selecting multiple rows in a listbox with checkboxes causes checkboxes to be automatically selected.
  • Results window shows details on items selected for deletion.
  • Launching NoDupe by right-clicking on "Computer", "Network" etc now automatically selects all children (so can be used to quickly select all disks).
  • "View Log File" added to Help menu.
  • Tweaks to Preview functionality to make it more user friendly.
  • Minor refactoring to file comparison code, should give a slight performance boost.

  • Bugfix: Fixed crash which could occur when NoDupe is run for the first time.
  • Log errors to text file to facilitate error investigation.
  • Replaced iExpress with WinRAR to package the installer, this should resolve installation errors on XP.

  • Bugfix: User settings are now correctly persisted after upgrading to new versions.
  • Bugfix: Root paths (eg, C:\) can now be searched from Windows Explorer's Context Menu without raising an error.
  • Bugfix: If comparing audio files where several files have identical audio data but the audio starts at different positions in the file, sometimes the files would not be detected as duplicates.
  • Corrupted MP3 files with repeated LYRICS or ID3v1 blocks can now be scanned.

  • Bugfix: Files in directories with subdirs were not being deleted if option to create shortcuts was not set.
  • Files can now be previewed - select 'Preview' on the Results tab or use the context menu.

  • Bugfix: Directories with unicode characters now display correctly.
  • Bugfix: Directories in AutoMark dialog are now ordered correctly.
  • FLAC files now fully supported - tags will be ignored when 'Ignore Tags' selected.

  • Bugfix: Permanently Delete Files sometimes getting set to true (sorry, that's a biggie).
  • Bugfix: Excluded subdirectories of an included parent directory will now be excluded correctly.
  • Bugfix: Using multi-select on the results tab will no longer auto-check the rows being selected (that bug was down to Microsoft).
  • AutoMark can now mark Directories based on Date and Size.
  • Most files can now be processed 3 times quicker.
  • Now possible to check for new version from the Help menu.

  • Fixed a defect in the installer where default config was not being installed.
  • Usability changes to make the app more accessible to non-technical users.
  • Now possible to define 'Search Types'.
  • 4 'Search Types' pre-defined (All Files, Directories, Music Files, Albums).
  • Deleted files and directories can now be replaced with shortcuts to the copies which were not deleted.
  • Options tab removed and split between 'Search Types' and an 'Advanced' settings dialog.

  • New colours in the duplicate files list.
  • Context menu added to duplicate files list.
  • Deletion of items now performed on a background thread for improved UI responsiveness.
  • Multi-select enabled in the duplicate files list.
  • Errors during deletion now do now cancel the whole process, and are shown to the user at the end of the process.
  • Refactored deletion code for improved performance.
  • Resolved defect when comparing more than two matching directories.
  • General UI updates.
  • System folders (eg Recycle Bin) and Windows folders (eg Program Files) now hidden in the directory tree (to prevent deleting important system files).

  • There was a small bug where deleted files were not removed from the list of duplicates (deleted directories were removed ok).
  • Introduced the use of colour in the list of duplicates to make it easier to identify groups and selected items.

New in NoDupe 1.01 (Oct 8, 2011)

  • Changed the installer from InstallShield to WiX, this reduces the download size from 2MB to 0.5MB! The new installer is a lot more customisable too.
