New in PCL Paraphernalia 3.2.4.0 (Dec 12, 2020)

  • The PCL Soft Font Generate utility can now also be used to convert TrueType fonts to PCL Soft Fonts even if the license probabyly prohibits conversation. A flag in the TrueType font states that permission is required from the legal owner. Now PCL Paraphernalia asks the user if the user got this permission.
  • This little change is required if the flags in the TrueType font are set in a way this is somehow "strange". A font may set the flag that requires permission from the legal owner, but also set the flag that allows font embedding for printing. If PCL Paraphernalia is used to convert the font it is clear what that generated Soft Font is to be used for - for printing (there is probably no other use for a PCL Soft Font).
