PV Bean Counter Changelog

What's new in PV Bean Counter 2.0.2.6

Jan 12, 2015
  • Tolerates a problem with data produced by Sunny Explorer version 1.07.9 or newer - Refer to Issue 18 at BitBucket
  • Fixes a problem discovered in Issue 16 - this allowed field level consolidations to be ignored in some circumstances
  • Fixes some minor issues in configuration program associated with detecting when a save is required
  • Now records the date and time a settings file is saved in the settings file

New in PV Bean Counter 2.0.2.5 (Jan 12, 2015)

  • Fixes a defect that caused PVMonitor to crash when using version 2.0.2.4 - Reported in Issue 11 at BitBucket

New in PV Bean Counter 2.0.2.4 (Jan 12, 2015)

  • Fixes a defect that caused the configuration program to crash when adding a new PVOutput system
  • Ensures the Consolidation "Device Manager" has a name recorded in the xml configuration file. This fixes an error that appeared in the log when reloading settings while the service is runing.
  • Change the default setting of the PVOutput parameter "Power Alternates Min / Max". This was on by default but is now off unless you explicitly set it. This setting impacts PVOutput power readings when multiple devices are consolidated into Yield or Consumption
  • Added definitions for Eaton, Orion and SunEzy inverters. All use the existing CMS configuration file.

New in PV Bean Counter 2.0.2.3 (Jan 12, 2015)

  • Fixes Issue #5 (at BitBucket). This affected the above Inverter types when the PVBC Service starts (or the Inverter's Device Manager Thread restarts) before Inverter startup

New in PV Bean Counter 2.0.2.2 (Jan 12, 2015)

  • Fixes multiple calibration defects that under some circumstances prevented the calibration from taking effect
  • Allows Watts Clever users to control the device sampling interval - This was not previously exposed in the configuration program
  • Improvements to Device Query Interval and Database Interval configuration behaviour - no operation impacts

New in PV Bean Counter 2.0.2.1 (Jan 12, 2015)

  • Does not send zero yield values to PVOutput when the inverter is not active
  • Improved handling of Sunny Explorer. SE does not always exit correctly. This version detects the presence of the output files after 90 seconds and ends SE if it has not stopped correctly
  • Enhanced trace facilities (called Thread Trace) that allow trace output to be limited to selected Device and PVOutput System managers. This is documented in the new manual in section 11

New in PV Bean Counter 2.0.2.0 (Jan 12, 2015)

  • Support for JFY 3 phase inverters. Currently only tested with 1 phase data from a JFY emulator
  • Improved default "Address" selection when adding a new device
  • Improved default "Serial Number" selection when adding a new device
  • Fixes a defect that caused the configuration program to crash when a Device Manager is deleted before all associated Devices are deleted

New in PV Bean Counter 2.0.0.13 (Jun 26, 2013)

  • Fixes:
  • Current Cost Meters caused errors if suspend / resume was used
  • The configuration program aborted if you deleted a PVOutput system
  • This version includes a change required for Aurora inverters to fix scaling of EnergyToday and include the "Endian" patch.

New in PV Bean Counter 1.9.0.9 (Oct 5, 2012)

  • This version has been updated for Fronius Inverter testing.

New in PV Bean Counter 1.9.0.8 (Oct 5, 2012)

  • This version is for On-Going testing of recently added inverters.
  • These include:
  • SunnyRoo / Effekta Modbus Inverters
  • SunnyRoo / Powercom Non-Modbus Inverters
  • Xantrex Inverters
  • KLNE Modbus and Non-Modbus Inverters
  • JFY Inverters
  • SAMIL Inverters
  • CMS Inverters
  • Fronius Inverters

New in PV Bean Counter 1.9.0.6 (Oct 5, 2012)

  • This version has been provided to rectify Issues 267 and 268. This version is based upon significantly modified PVBC code that is not yet ready for widespread use.

New in PV Bean Counter 1.8.3.24 (Oct 5, 2012)

  • This version provides new support for JFY Inverters via a serial port connection.
  • It also provides support for new SMA WebBox features:
  • SMA WebBox using the new firmware - different XML file format
  • SMA WebBox using WebBox "Push" delivery of files

New in PV Bean Counter 1.8.3.13 (Apr 8, 2012)

  • This version includes the new Growatt and SAMIL Inverter Managers. It also contains significant changes for all Phoenixtec / CMS / Eaton / KLNE Inverter Managers
  • Testing with some SAMIL inverters indicated that Energy Today may be unreliable on SAMIL Inverters. SAMIL users may need to check "Force Use Energy Total" - this is currently the default for SAMIL inverters
  • This version introduces a power estimation feature (based on reported power levels). Thisi is useful on dim days with inverters that track energy yield at a relatively low resolution. This feature is particularly useful for Growatt, Eaton and some other Phoenixtec inverters where yield is tracked in kwh to 1 decimal place
  • This version also allows Growatt, CMS, Eaton (all supported Phoenixtec related inverters) to measure power at intervals as low as 6 seconds. This is useful with the PVMonitor facility
  • For Growatt, CMS, KLNE and SAMIL inverters, it provides 6 second readings to the Inverter Yield gauge. These 6 second readings (including other inverter metrics) can be stored in the PVBC database at 6 second intervals, however the default database storage interval is 60 seconds

New in PV Bean Counter 1.8.2.1 (Feb 18, 2012)

  • This version supports KLNE Sunteams Inverters.
  • It also supports Watts Clever EW4008 / 4009 Energy Meters.
  • It also provides solutions to the problems reported in issues 164 and 184.
