New in Panorado 4.0.1.2 (Dec 13, 2008)

  • RAW file support
  • The DCRaw program (by David Coffin) has been integrated in order to support loading a variety of camera specific raw file formats.
  • HDR file support
  • HDR stands for images with a high dynamic range. HDR file formats allow to store more information than the traditional 8- or 16-bit formats. HDR will get more and more important in professional photography and image processing. Panorado 4.0 supports 2 of the most important HDR file formats: Radiance HDR and OpenEXR, and offers some extended viewing options for these formats.
  • Revision of virtual folder and network share presentation
  • Some adjustments were required by Windows Vista.
  • Extended ordering options
  • Image files can now be sorted by image size or date/time of exposure. In preview list mode, the sort order can be switched by clicking on the column header.
  • Extended image properties in preview list mode
  • Image size, exposure date/time and image description have been added.
  • Organizer tool revised
  • The new Organizer can be hidden and reactivated any time, keeping its collection of files.
  • On the collection page, automatic file sorting by filenames can be switched off temporarily, thus enabling manual file ordering. If the Rename Files tool is then applied to this collection, files can be renumbered according to the new manual arrangement.
  • An extra page was added for a clear presentation of batch tools.
  • Extended batch tools
  • The function for renaming files has been extended. There are new functions for scaling images and for copying image information.
  • Extended printing options
  • Image information and a logo can be inserted.
  • Pixel info
  • There's an option to track precise color values (RGB or DHR) of the pixel currently under the mouse cursor in a floating window.
  • Additional scaling options
  • The image scale can now defined as being adjusted to the window width or height. This can be useful in slideshow mode.
  • Transformation tool revised
  • The preview pane can be enlarged. There's a new Mercator projection. Adhesive flaps can be added to cubic projections to create cubes to be cut out in cardboard.
  • Picture disk tool
  • The editor for launching options has been revised.
  • Settings
  • When sorting filenames, digits can either be interpreted as character values or as numeric values.
  • The maximum field of view and the minimum/maximum scale are adjustable for the viewer.
  • For analytical purposes, anti-aliasing of enlarged images can be switched off.
  • Thumbnails can be created automatically if desired. They can be larger than the usual size if this is useful.
  • Graphical presentation revised
  • This applies to thumbnail view, the image properties tool and various artwork.
  • Licensing functions reimplemented
  • This ensures that you are using a clean program version when working with Panorado in test mode or with a legal license, without imposing any restrictions. But things might get a little harder for hackers.
  • Update checker
  • This function allows to check automatically or manually for a new downloadable program version on the Panorado website, and, if found, do an instant program update
