  • When launching Papers, a new dialogue will appear that provides the option of opening a different library or create a new one if the current library cannot be located.

  • Full-text PDFs and other files can now be uploaded to Papers Online.
  • When reading a PDF in the Reader, you can now resume reading a paper from from where you last left off. You can enable this option by going to Settings > Papers > 'Remember last read position'.
  • Citations now supports styles to use hyperlinks that point to the files on your library.
  • Bug fixes and improvements:
  • When using the column view, column order is now persisted when you restart Papers.
  • IE proxy settings are automatically retrieved. Manual proxy configuration is still required for basic authentication.
  • An issue was fixed where the Open File button would become disabled after opening a file.
  • Preferred style for Citations can now be selected using the "Style Selector".
  • When matching a paper, Crossref is automatically used independently of the favorite search engines you've selected.
  • Dropbox sync improvements for Papers 2 libraries being imported during first run.

  • Adds support for Watched folders that can now be created on shared network folders and accessed by multiple users.
  • There's a new option "Remove from collection" for papers inside a manual collection.
  • We've added a maintenance section under Settings->Help that contains a button to repair the full-text search index.

  • Automatic PDF download: Papers will try to fetch the PDF automatically when a search result is imported into the library.
  • Papers Bookmarklet: article webpages are opened in the Reader ready for import to the library, complete with metadata and a PDF, if available for the article.
  • Papers Online: publications from the Reading List and any Shared Collections can now be imported into the library via drag-and-drop.
